Ikarus/Soko Type 522. :ok: Nicely done Martin.

First saw it in action in the movie Kelly's Heroes with Clint Eastwood and Telly Savalas (and a cast of thousands).

G'day Graeme,

Is that an Argus As10 engine ? It also has an Arado looking tail fin, the Histaviation Arado page has a lot of broken links on it, any point in looking elswhere?

Noyade 5th Jan 2012 22:14

Evening Trevor!

Is that an Argus As10 engine ?
No mate, a Ranger V-770. Not German, don't go there.

skytrain10 5th Jan 2012 22:25

Morning Graeme...the Clark Duramold 46 (aka Fairchild 46A)?

Noyade 5th Jan 2012 22:31

Engine ID help? :)

You have it mate and control. :ok:

skytrain10 5th Jan 2012 22:34

Engine ID help?
Nope! Just looked like a Fairchild - engine just confirmed it - honestly:)

Not had a chance to look in until now...busy day. Will prep something before I hit the hay.

SincoTC 5th Jan 2012 22:47

Thanks for the info Graeme,

I just found this on Fright Archive

1939 | 1- - 0817 | Flight Archive

Says it's the Clark Cabin Monoplane

Edit: Too late it seems, well done Ken :D (slight sense of relief as I don't have to find another challenge) :)

Engine ID help?
Not on Aerofiles it didn't; wasted some time there, but it did find it on the F Archive (another one word search)

Edit2: Strewth mate, NZ thread is so slooow: only added about 65 pages in 13 months :bored::bored: and we fret when there's not many about :)

Noyade 5th Jan 2012 23:14

Thanks for the info Graeme,
Yes, I thought I was talking you! :) Didn't realise till now Ken answered. A new swooper?

Caption calls No.5 the Fairchild-Clark-Duramold F-46 of 1938.

Time for the electric-blanket mate?

SincoTC 5th Jan 2012 23:19

Yus mate, off now before it's time to get up again!! I might listen to the match if I can find a streamed commentary, (I always have the radio on anyway so might as well listen to summat interesting between ZZzz's):)

Catchya later :ok:
