In line with Kibag's thinking, and also looking closely, it does seem very 'agricultural' for an a/c. The ply and screw heads (and marks) do not look pretty. Iron curtain homebuild copy of a Taylorcraft/Cub...? So I guess it's a copy of something older :O
Sorry Fitter2, waited too long to post.. |
Mustpost's attempt is along the right lines, but geographically somwhat inaccurate. The type was in series production by a factory.
What about the Auster Agricola (maybe spelling incorrect), and the piper cub isn't listed.
Not an Auster. (Or UK built). One of these days, (if it hasn't been done already) somebody should do a genealogy of Mr Taylor's original design and it's many descendants.
I'm surprised the Cub isn't on the list - i suppose it's just too common, although I have a great affection for the type I did my first (power) solo in (L4 Cub, ex-military version of the J3). I suppose should clarify it's no sort of Piper. |
OK then, out on a limb again, agricultural looking, as stated before, so how about PAC FU 24 Fletcher ????
Not the PAC Fletcher. This was a trainer, but a later development was used for agricultural purposes.
Serious barrel scraping sounds now ! PZL Mielec M-18, M-24 dromador ???
Is it the C.A.P. 4 Paulistinha?, sometimes called a Neiva or "Paulista" CAP-4, which was developed into the Neiva P-56. The design was originally derived from the EAY-201 Ypiranga, circa 1935.
Bri has it. The CAP-4, descended from an unlicenced copy of the Taylor Cub (with a radial engine - the Paulhinista had a more conventional Franklin). Amazing that such differnt aircraft as the Super Cub 180, Auster AOP9 and Beagle Terrier could evolve from one original type.
Over to Mr Evans - I'm sure his challenge will be just that. |
Thanks Fitter2. That was an excellent challenge. If a fellow ppruner would like to post a cockpit photo, the floor is open. I am off to bed, and will post my challenge around 1400 UTC if no one else has posted.

We have had many aircraft from this stable so this should be easy:

Foxmoth ?
100% right. :D:D:D There, said it would be easy! You have control
:) :) :) That's probably the only one I'll ever get right. Nothing to post, so open house for any expert..............
I see the Foxmoth is equipped with the optional clothes dryer. Should it be called the Clothes moth? :8 Here is the next cockpit challenge:

Wild guess - Blackburn Type D?
Sorry Steve, not from Blackburn's stable.
Farnham F-20? :O
Sorry bad computtting - I reckon it might be the Farnham F-40 edit and again, standing my ground, I will say - it might be a pusher...(maybe) |
Sorry, not a Farman. This one has the engine in front.
