Speedpig 16th Mar 2008 12:56

Well done Woods,

Like you, I have been guessing the Globe Swift for several others and have been dying to see this one up!

You have control.

Woods 16th Mar 2008 15:29

Speedpig-I have yet to post a picture; I'm going to give it a shot later today to see if I know how, best to an open house to keep things moving and I'll butt in when I can. Lou

Cub2Jet's challenge...

Looks like a Boeing biplane fighter from the '30s, perhaps the F4B-4...

Cub2jet's Challenge

A Curtiss F9C-2 Sparrowhawk perhaps?
Mel

Cubs2jets 17th Mar 2008 13:46

Mel has it! Sorry I was late to confirm. This plane is in the National Museum of Naval Aviation in Pennsicola, FL. The biggest "clue" in the picture was the wing roots of the upper wings.

Next Challenge

Thanks cubs2jets as you say the wing root was the clue, although my first thoughts were a the Gull Winged Polikarpov I-15 as used in the Spanish War or a PZL 11.
I am sure this next one will be no trouble.

An updated list has been published at the "What Cockpit and Aerodrome list "thread.
