Don't know if still there, but in 1999
there was a Puss Moth encased/preserved in the street
outside Indian AL offices on this field. Replica or not, unsure,
but it represented the first aircraft flown by J R D Tata,
founder of Tata Airlines, precursor of Air India.

Sorry, no pix to post - open house........ 'ZG

I hope the sizing is not too small. A bit too technical for me to change I am afraid.

Duckbutt 8th Dec 2007 13:30

Can I have another go then?

Piarco,Trinidad. Taken on the 16th, November,1954. A proving flight by B.OA.C

Duckbutt 8th Dec 2007 17:51

Mmm, bit short on detail there Sabredog, nevertheless you have it.

sabredog 8th Dec 2007 17:59

Thank you ,Duckbutt. Due entirely to the June,1996,edition of Aeroplane Monthly, which ran a series of articles on the Boeing Stratocruiser.
Open House,Gentlemen, as I have nothing to post.

KeMac 8th Dec 2007 18:06

not as difficult as it seems - the clue is in the airline

Kieron Kirk 8th Dec 2007 19:11

Must be Gatwick.

Having said that , if it is I do not have anything to post!

It is not Gatwick.

Both eventualities covered!

KeMac 8th Dec 2007 20:10

Not Gatwick, but think BUA route network.

The SSK 8th Dec 2007 20:20

So the 1-11 demonstrator would be on a hunt for new customers? Lagos?

(If so, then 40 years on, it was in the right country)

KeMac 8th Dec 2007 20:33

Not Lagos but you are on the right track

The SSK 8th Dec 2007 20:37

Then Accra?

KeMac 8th Dec 2007 20:53

Not Accra!

The SSK 8th Dec 2007 21:06

Lusaka?
That's my third and final guess.

KeMac 8th Dec 2007 21:35

Not Lusaka either I fear. Right continent though.

Phileas Fogg 8th Dec 2007 21:47

Nairobi ?

KeMac 8th Dec 2007 21:51

Not Nairobi.

MReyn24050 8th Dec 2007 22:23

Must be Entebbe then

KeMac 8th Dec 2007 22:40

Not Entebbe but a move in the right direction away from Nairobi towards West Africa. I appreciate there are no real clues other than the aircraft but from what I can remember it was only BUA VC 10s that flew the route normally.
