Fernando de Norhona, Brazil?? 03-51S, 32-25W
The closest airport in the Americas to the African continent; used as a staging point to ferry aircraft to the middle east during WWII. |
I think the airstrip is in North Korea, but I can't identify the exact location.

KOREA
An aerial view of the emergency airfield on Yo Do. You are looking at the runway from the harbor end. The runway is set on an approximate southwest to northeast axis. The southwest end of the runway is closest to the camera. This photograph is dated June 26, 1952, the day the Seabees finished the runway. OPEN HOUSE |

Only just awake, looked at pic and thought Harwarden / Broughton ??
Keith. |
Is it Drem? The background hills look a bit familiar.
 |
The scenery looks very Scottish
|
Neither Drem Hawarden or Broughton.
|
To me they look like the southerly Pennine / Peak district hills similar to due east of Manchester Ringway. Whilst Woodford tempts me, I shall opt for Ashborne initially.
