Stockholm Bromma?

evansb 23rd Jul 2007 22:01

Not Stockholm. The aerodrome is located in the southern hemisphere. Here is the ground-side view.

Brisbane Archerfield - YBAF?

evansb 24th Jul 2007 05:49

Sorry, not Brisbane Archerfield.

Tiger_mate 24th Jul 2007 06:52

It is Adelaide Parafield Airport passenger terminal and control tower

evansb 24th Jul 2007 12:47

evansb's challenge

Sorry Tiger_mate, it is not Adelaide. I posted Adelaide on July 19th, thread #165. The mystery aerodrome is not in South Australia, or Queensland. The building was the main terminal and control tower from 1941 to 1956 and the design became the standard for the day, with similar ones being built in Parafield and Archerfield.

Tiger_mate 24th Jul 2007 13:02

A Std design would suggest a govt owned building, so going for major towns of Northern Australia, DARWIN?

evansb 24th Jul 2007 13:20

Not in the Northern Territory. When I said it wasn't in South Australia, I meant the Territory of South Australia. A portion of the building is still in use today.

Sydney...Tower built 1941 and as it is today....

boris 25th Jul 2007 00:19

Tiger_mate 25th Jul 2007 06:04

That phrase should be banned from these pages :E
http://www.dc3airways.com/bea_routemap.jpg
The aircraft is a C47a leased from BOAC, and one of 72 operated by BEA throughout the UK and Europe. The mainland routes are above, and I do not think that the picture is of the DC3 base at Northolt.

European mainland still gets my vote, but which country?

MancRed 25th Jul 2007 12:41

Tiger......it is in the UK and I think it is easy considering.......

The SSK 25th Jul 2007 13:56

Considering it's where you're located?

Ringway?
