My old mucker John Crewdson flew 60 hours filming that backdrop of the stuff over Greenland..
No but you've got the general idea
This was taken over for use building fighters and a specialised bomber in WW2
It was a private airfield outside of wartime. Not a lot of old pictures - this one is damaged I'm afraid

No , sorry
I've seen some descriptions that say it was visited by Puss Moths, a Wapiti, Comper Mouse, Rapides and even an original "Argosy" etc etc at various times
A USAAF Squadron was here for a year or so towards the end of the war
There is nothing left of the WW2 buildings or runways other than a small memorial.

I may possibly have a slight advantage here, because I can guess at Asturias’ migration path.
I think it might be Smith’s Lawn, Windsor.

India42 has it - Smiths Lawn - the ULTIMATE private strip at the southern end of Windsor Great Park
used by the Prince of Wales in the early 30's (see pic of his arrival)
Taken over by Vickers to assemble Hurricanes and then the high altitude Wellington V1
A USAAF communications squadron was there '43-'46 to support Eisenhower & co based nearby.
Completely cleared up and converted to the Guards Polo Club but the Duke of E. unveiled a memorial relatively recently

As I said, I had a slight advantage, but it was the "specialised bomber clue" that clued me in.
Try this:
Try this:
Are we in Canada? Doesn't look much like Vietnam??
Go to the top of the class - it's Canada! I'll give you a freebie - it's not in the Prairies.
Edited to add a gratuitous picture. It may not help much, but I like flying boats!

No, not Nanaimo. The water in the distance is not salty.

Sometimes you're ALL heart! Thanks....................
So ... a lake, a reasonably large town with TWO multi storey buildings but not so busy that it has a parallel taxi way... Almost thought of Winnipeg....
But I'll plump for Penticon BC instead - presumably you were there to visit the adjacent Play Estate Winery?

One-hundred kilometre long Lake Okanagan in the distance and Skaha Lake in the foreground.
Asturias has control.

Finger trouble I'm afraid
Open house - I've run out of challenges

looks very nice
beaches, river, dunes, golf course, airstrip and not a single large hotel or villa in sight!
at least then - I presume it looks a bit different now?
USA perhaps?

Now that looks like a good shot..................
