Which Aerodrome Mk IV
A flat piece of ground with trees in the distance. That narrows it down, not!
However, the band of cloud in the distance intrigues me. Are we looking at lenticular clouds, downwind of some mountains?

There are certainly mountains in this country.
Does the uncropped picture give you more clues? Or do I need to consult the bard's opposition for plain language on which the airport is standing

Which Hemisphere? Well, part of the country's name suggests one but the full name tells the truth. The local mayor has a name link to a BBC series.
The reference to the bard could flow into a jet engine name.

Avon is correct so now we need to find the city. Looking un the UK would be a nugatory exercise.
Although the airport supports international and domestic RPT traffic, there is a thriving GA community.

Christchurch it is, on the Avon river and nestled on the Canterbury Plain.

Lovely photograph wherever it is. Well that's an Air Liban DC4 which dates the photo to not earlier than 1954... I'll see whose Dak that is if I can.... I think now it belongs to Iranian Airways. I'll have a crack at the Viking when the airfield i.d. is confirmed.

OUAQGKGF - you've cracked it with the Air Liban (which became MEA) DC-4.
It has to be Beirut. The hangars became Trans-Mediteranean air cargo, where they used to load/maintain their green 707s. I'm pretty sure they are still there.
I'd guess the photo was taken from somewhere beside runway 21.
Sadly, away from home with limited it capability. If right, may I offer it up for "open house?"

Aircraft on left is a Hermes....double n/wheel,4-blader props....
BSD If I were you I would stick with your first guess of Kuwait. I'm pretty sure that Viking is probably G-AGRU or G-AIVK which were leased in 1955 to the Kuwait Oil Company. Their basic livery appears to be that of the leasor 'British International Airways' a BOAC subsidary? I don't think the airfield is Beirut.

Since I was passing by, I thought I would confirm that the previous challenge really was CYZZ!
i’m driving back to Calgary from Victoria via Highway 3,which is the scenic route winding its way through the mountains, close to the US border. It takes about 17 hours instead of 11 that the quickest route would take, but I’m not in a rush.
I stayed overnight in Trail which is one of the several mining towns on this route. The mountain scenery is very spectacular but the towns themselves are not exactly beautiful. Here’s the lead-zinc smelter which dominates Trail’s skyline:
The pollution is not as bad as in years past. An indication of what it used to be like can be inferred from the name of the local ice hockey team – the Trail Smoke Eaters, known locally as the Smokies.

OUAQUKGF,
Kuwait didn't seem right as I posted it - the grass in the foreground didn't seem likely. My memory of Kuwait is all sand.
Your Air Liban pointer jogged the memory.. I once parked outside those hangars and whilst we unloaded relief supplies (what else at Beirut?) I walked over to the AN-12 parked beside us and had a guided tour from the crew.. If I was at home I think I could find the photos-- with those hangars in the background.
I'll stick with Beirut, though I'll feel a right chump if it isn't.
Meanwhile, loved the Canadian pix.
