It might be a Fairey Albacore..................... my Father-in-law flew them in WW2

It might be a Fairey Albacore
The instruments, particularly the single-pointer altimeter, indicate an earlier vintage.

Yes, younger then the Albacore by around 15 years.
Wiki mentions ten variants, Mel - one of which was temporarily fitted with floats, but otherwise a wheeled land-plane.

I can't begin to imagine the CRM/Human Factors problems that throttle arrangement must have had with P1 trying to drive the plane and simultaneously manage P2 who was driving the engines.

Mind you, I'm not sure the country in question has progressed much in terms of CRM since those days.

Four years earlier than the Letov, infinitely more elegant and closer to home than Czechoslovakia.

That control column is quite similar to that in Boeing 247 - but not identical - so American? But that's further away than Czecho IIRC.............
