Always wondered what they were like to fly,
I’ve always wondered what they sounded like. I imagine it must’ve been like a formation of Tiger Moths!

Duh! What about searching YouTube, I42?

Yes, I remember seeing those in aircraft in Australia.

Noyade,
Interesting photo. Let's narrow it down a bit. Giant stick and European-style instruments, no sign of Cyrillic or the famous "Mig clock", so probably Eastern European. Reflector gunsight, so a fighter or fighter-trainer.

Upon close inspection, I see the Turn Indicator is labelled S and D, so I'm guessing Romanian (Stânga and Dreapta).

I don’t want to spoil the fun and give the answer.
But please give a warning when no one else posts
I do not want this to end that Noyade has to reveal again and declare open house.

They maybe `rounds counters` as there maybe a `guns charging/cocking `handle on the bottom of the panel; probably one on left too,but maybe for a different calibre weapon....

those lovely wood wheels!

the padded sides!!!!

Some up market transportation I think - but it looks as if the picture was taken through a doorway of some sort - so perhaps a "business" aircraft?

I cropped the windows from the photo but it is not enough to fool the pro.
