Hi Martin,

Not from Timm or Fairchild; but you're in the right country

'Artnoon TC.

I believe it's periscope
Could it possibly be a camera?

'Artnoon LM,

I suppose it could be a camera, but I've always understood that it and others like it on Primary Trainers of that period were periscopes.

Karlark's guess was pretty close, a one off, very similar or the same in all aspects except for the material used in its construction

Not ET VX; the crew did appear in the original photo, but they were eliminated in the silhouetting process

It was taken on the ground BTW!

C'mon guys,

Wots all the delay!! SD offered the NA-35 yesterday and I said no when I answered you about the jobber between the cockpits.

It is in Aerofiles with the picture I used, so is Karlark's guess, both with the same code, I said they were very similar apart from material and his was moulded plywood, plus I'll tell you now that the engine was basically the same!

The clock is now ticking, will David or Martin get there first (or SD or a lurker maybe). Go to it gentlemen

Not Braced LM,

The material was a departure from the norm for this company and not wood as I've already stated

Blimey! I looked at that but in the picture I found the top of the fin has a much wider chord.

I agree that there does seem to be a considerable difference in the tip chord of the fin between the Aerofiles and Wiki pictures, only one prototype built, so I guess it was modified in testing!
