Indeed wrong continent - you don't find that many square fields in the UK. However, around CFB Namao in Alberta, you can find lots of them :-)

Thanks BN. As you say, no longer an airforce base. I suppose I should have said CFB Edmonton, but when I was in Alberta, it was always referred to as CFB Namao, and before 1968, it was definitely RCAF Namao. When it was an operational airfield, the 14,000 ft runway was designated as an emergency Shuttle strip.

Now how about this?

That's the one Clint.

Used as a prison today, but some of the old buildings and hangars still visible.
West of Lancaster at 34°42'10.40"N 118°14'6.89"W

A bit puzzled on this one - could it be the old control tower on the old strip on St. Lucia ? - if not, could you give us a clue - eg.does this tower still exist ?

des.

This is not St Lucia.

It is a heliport however but I am not sure if the tower still exists in this present state.
I would think that it has been modernised.

Hi des, yep !!!

It looks like just you and I playing at the moment !

It is indeed the 'temp' place that goes by the rather unflatering name of Geralds Bottom. Don't know who Gerald was but hope he's proud to have the place named after him !!

The place came about after the closure of WH Bramble Airport in Montserrat when the volcano erupted in July '95.

Over to you.

Clint.

Thank you Clint - I should have spotted that one earlier.
Here's something to keep things going - I may be wrong but i don't think it has been here before - if so, apologies
