Well at least you wont have to wade through AviaFrance Graeme, but I did find it on your least favourite American site !! I don't doubt that it's in one of your books though, coz you seem to have loads!!

LM made his usual excellant job with the silhouette, so the funny looking protrusions are quite real Reg, they are a small tail-wheel and two partly retracted main wheels!

Great - just when I'm 2/3rds of the way through!

Now over to Aerofiles!

Well, TC gave no hint to me of what it is, but let's say I've managed to find it already.

From implication its must be American mate - see Sinco's comment to Noyade.
Think I would have preferred it if it were French - too many search options on Aerofiles!

Nope.

Tossing towel in....now! I'm a "beaten" man. Cheers!

Reg

I can give you several good reasons why it's quite elusive and that's precisely why I chose it

Therefore, I think that maybe you should be asking LM how he found it so easily !! I guess that being a fighter pilot, his eyes are peeled and he looks around the obvious target for something that might be lurking (see below)!

Basically, all the typical search keywords words don't appear in its Aerofiles entry, BUT some will take you an adjacent entry for the manufacturer who only had four products.

Edited to say that I'm back at work now, but I will keep an eye open before now and coffee break. BTW, there was quite a big clue to the manufacturer given earlier on!

Bingo! Well done Reg,

It is the Towle TA-3

maybe I should have held back about that clue for a while , but you seemed to be the only one out there!

The thread is yours

Thanks Sinco!

It was really tricky, even the Amphibion defies amphibian (but not amphibious) in all search modes. However, I was at some point, before the clue, already at Thurston....

Great challenge! OPEN HOUSE as I think LM does not have new ones for me...

Good call RegDep. Must admit had given up as it didn't come up on the usual search criteria and I didn't have enough time to go through every page! The "obvious" clue eluded me totally!

'Artnoon all.

After RegDeps comments about me starting at Y with my last challenge, I fired a wild shot and started in Aerofiles at the end of the alphabet.

After just under an hour I got to T and it was downhill.

Nothing clever.
