Silhouette challenge
Is it from CAC in OZ, Purveyors of a/c like the Mustang,Sabre etc; The other well known one would be DC-3....
...among them one of the best known type ( if not the best known ) in the world ...

I do not believe that "possibly the best known aircraft in the world" comes from countries outside this group.

The challenge plane is german ,and built in a big factory ,which a little later built under licence a large number of a very well known german aircraft.

So, it is one of the BFW M Series planes, do not know which yet.

And the licensed plane was Messerschmitt 109
(For a while I thought that for Bradenav the best known would have been Bleriot )

I think it may be the Erla 6A ? it has a high aspect-ratio, single strutted wing and I think I can make out out the flat twin engine in your image.
Erla made about 9000 Bf 109 so they would qualify.
I discounted the BFW M series because I believe they're all low wing types
I have been working late and have to go now, so please declare Open House if correct.

TC you must right, although the concept of "under license" is not very clear to me in this case. I think (without knowing too much) that where 109 was manufactured was based on allocation from either Speer's planning office or somewhere else and not by negotiated licensing arrangements.... .
I would handle Erla's factory in Leipzig as a 109 production site/facility.
But the challenge was good, and the a/c in web, so everybody is happy .

You may be ( or are ) right : however ,I think that some money get back to BFW ...I believe (but I'am not sure) ,ERLA built Bf 109 even before the war ...

Yes, they built over 11,000 between 1937 and 1945, about one third of the total Bf 109 production. The biggest "series" was 8,298 units.
And they produced Arado Ar 65, Heinkel He 51 and Gotha Go 145 under license before Bf 109.
So all is fine, one learns something every day.

I remember being 18 years old and buying that book from an odd "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" bookshop that had a curtained-off porno section in Pitt St, Sydney. I flew up to Sydney for an engine mechanic apprenticeship interview with TAA.
The bookshop owner (he looked like that long-haired dude from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show") asked me if I spoke German. I replied "nein!". He didn't find that funny....memories...
Anyway, this won't be difficult Richard as it's on the opposite page to the history of Erla...
