Solar Impulse, first drawings, circa 2004 (quite different from the final realization).

Not a French design. This aircraft was built.

To help you along, a 1920's era design. Just the one built as far as I can gather.

Afternoon gents; just a flying visit I'm afraid, this one looks like a tough cookie!!

a 1920's era design
That could mean it was built later following an earlier style, so was it actually built in the 20's??

What was its role?

Belgian maybe?

Hi Trevor....it was built in the 1920's. First flight probably 1923. Designed as a trainer.

Not Belgian!

No progress, so a further clue. This was one of the first home produced aircraft from this particular country. From information available on the net it seems the manufacturer went on to produce 2 other models, all in the 1920's.
