Thanks Walter! Saved me a fruitless search. Nice challenge David, adding another to the growing list of "I've never heard of that".

Not so difficult...

TC,

Blimey LM; whats going on, you can nearly see the whole darn 'plane!!!
Personally I thought it was so obscure that it would have been very unfair to crop it.

Of course, I hadn't reckoned on WK being airborne had I !!

Back to the challenge.

Judging by the distance of the doors and hangar wall, this thing can't have wings!!!!!

S'not a gondola of some kind is it?

The thot plickens - the guy on the left looks distinctly US Navy, but I don't get the hat of the other one.

Am I being silly, or could this just be German?

I'm off to sulk now, since nobody else is in the playground.

After WW2, didn't the US and UK share some Ju290s between them.

That might account for the under-fuselage slight "blister".

G'day mate. Sorry, I've been watching some DVDs. The clue is the "wheelchair" access. Well, I thought so.

Here's inside, very plush isn't ?

Hi David.
Hope you bought her something memorable.
.
Yes I think she was happy with the gifts. I almost brought her the Putnam's book on Miles Aircraft that I saw on ebay, but I don't think she would have been impressed.

Is your challenge the Junkers G 24 or G 38? It looks from your photograph that the wing skin is of wriggly tin.

Thank you for the PM Mel.

The challenge - the engine you see is the only one it has....

the wing skin is of wriggly tin
It's fabric covered.

Interesting, the cockpit must be aft of the wing. Puts me in mind of the Nieuport-Delage 42S configuration.
