Morning...there is some resemblance to the Gordon Dove, except for the tail! Any connection...same designer maybe?

Reg, the inspiration was the Belgian Tipsy S Edit I see you found that out).

Good morning Ken

The resemblance is because it is the Gordon Dove!!

I understand from the Wiki entry, that three Gordon Doves were built and all three were slightly different in the fin/rudder shape and playing about with bracing

skytrain10 has control

Well didn't expect that...only photo I have is in Putnams and the tail resembles a Tiger Moth! The wings and fuselage looked right though. Couldn't find anything on the web.

Going to make the most of the nice weather and get some hedge cutting done, so Open House.

Gordon Dove

I found this on the Web, as I did the drawing (originally from Jane's)

Both horizontal and vertical surfaces were heavily revised for the third aircraft, though on all three, all control surfaces were horn balanced. The early machines had tailplanes which were strut braced to the top of the fin, with a straight leading edge of modest sweep and carrying generous, curved elevators. The fin was sharply triangular, but the rudder extended the leading edge line, was curved at the rear and ended above the elevators. On the third Dove the bracing was abandoned, the leading edge sweep increased and the elevators decreased in chord and made straight edged. Its vertical surfaces were altered to produce a more conventional shape, the rudder projecting less above the fin but continuing downwards between the elevators to the fuselage bottom
Note that only the "trousers" have been removed, the spats remain (that's the trouble with the colonial term pants that seem to be used for both u/c legs and wheel fairings)!

skytrain declared an Open House and was snapped up by RD on QRA

Get a good deal on the new "wheels" David, one for each point of the "Star" eh!

OK, fine.

A version of Tecnam P2006T, the Tecnam MMA (for Multi Mission Aircraft). Because it has been certified under a Supplemental Type Certificate 10034631, certifying the TECNAM Multi Mission Aircraft (MMA) for use as an airborne surveillance platform, I must grant this to HappyPass.

Over to you

Boaaah - he is gone.

Open House!

G'day Reg, Trevor and HP?

Would you be interested in an AviaQuiz like challenge? I have no silhouettes.

However, I'm not 100% sure on the answer...

looks more grumpy than Grumpy...
I'm still "unhapi" with the Cygnet, my answer in the first couple of hours has dissapeared into the ether, along with quite a few others it seems
