You challenge, does it have a V-tail?
Si!

Flaps are down probably as standard to stop people standing on them when getting in/out.

I'm fine mate, but the weather ain't.

It's going to be a busy weekend - we have to find and buy a third car.

Glad you found your way to the "invert".

Morning David,

Not intended for racing and not a Caudron; it was inspired by a well known light sport aircraft, it was built (more than one) and did fly.

The only photo I have found on the Web, shows it has appeared to have been debagged!

Was it built for racing/competition or simply low drag?

Sorry - cross posts.

Then could it be British?

Debagging meaning taking the spatting away?

It was indeed British, but its inspiration was a foreigner!

I guess low drag was the aim, but it was rather underpowered!

Then I suppose it would be classified as a sport jobber in the 30s.

I thought you'd have giggled that straight away Reg! I had already done so to make sure all was plain to see (oh dear, a pun) and as a veiled clue to it being British!

At the time, such fairings were often referred to as trousers!

Edit:

Correct LM, a 30s sport jobber!

Yep, also known as pants/spats.

Correctly they are known by their descriptive term "wheel fairings".

Sure I giggled it. I've seen it only in a Canadian Ballet, though…..

TC,

A little overlapping of the views here.

Am I correct in thinking it was an open cockpit?

A bit tricky with Ballet tights I would think. The prank of trouser removing got its British name from the easy target of the loose-fitting "Oxford Bags". I was surprised to see all the National variations of the practice on Wiki

Edit:

Yes, an open cockpit (sorry about that, but that's how it was published).
