Would that be something to do with control surface architecture?
My reference does mention the rudder's compensation method, but doesn't claim precedence, that goes to the undercarriage!

The new building is looking really good, but as always, there seem to be a million things to do and an ever looming deadline!

Ah so glasshopper, unserviceable! That means I can't add the ] my last post needs (done it now)!!! Plus I given a tasty clue now

I hope they fix that edit behaviour soon. BTW, its appearance seemed to immediately follow one of those overnight "windows" automatic updates, which broke several bits of software on our system!

Edit: I did mention the feature, but it's not retractable!

My machine at work doesn't get automatic updates and it happens there, as it has here at home this morning.

Maybe not retractable wheels but maybe steerable front wheel? Weren't there another two brothers in bicycle business (in addition to the Wright brothers) in the US, somewhere in California, whose one creation we already have had on the thread?

No mate, the problem is with the Prune software/computer! I was thinking that as these updates are a worldwide thing, it had nobbled their computerr too. I have noticed before that outbreaks of prune's "Database Errors" are similarly coincidental.

Sure, Graeme, Arthur and Willie Gonzales - the Speed(y) ones. But no, they only built one as per Aerofiles….

Back to the gear.

It isn't retractable or steerable.

Did it have pneumatic tyres?

'Tag Reg,

Thinking on the right lines there, but not steerable (I guess it could be but it's not mentioned). The constructor was not in the bicycle trade, but in training to become a lawyer!

Therefore nothing to do with the Gonzales Bros

Now there's a thought, but no! I'm guessing that rhey were pneumatic, but again it's not mentioned.

I'm hoping that it's not mis-information, but my reference website (quite well known and often used here) says it was the first use in the country of a certain type of landing-gear!

Edit to say that Reg is on tha right track, but I don't want to ram it home as that would make it too easy!

The first recorded use of tandem landing gear was the R.E.P. in 1907., but the challenge is not French we know.
