...or Lockheed L-2000.
I admit there are a few details out of place, but it can happen with "artistic impressions"
Didn't check Reg's ones (couldn't find a decent picture), so maybe they're the ones.

Edit: am I deceived or yours has two vertical stabs? cannot find any project with that feature...

I wonder if this aerospace thing is more space than aero. It (the silhouette) has an interesting asymmetry in it, which may mean something bulky under the belly, and it looks like it has relatively big slats. That could mean that it could be meant to carry something heavy from the ground, give it as high a speed as possible, launch it, and come back for the next.

Edit: Whoaa: Maybe I need to take another look. Thought it has four engines, but it may be only two. And maybe the "wing" that seemed to have "slats" was on the bulky belly thing. So maybe a booster that is returning back while the SST flies to its destination. Inventing things here , do not know of anything that would do so….. .

Free speculation it is then!
Four engines, the second from the right of the illustration is half merged with another structure (tailcone? fuselage? dorsal something?)

I was asking myself wether it was super- or hyper-sonic, but you question makes even more sense to me, Reg.
Also, right wing (to the left of the picture) seems a compound delta, whilst the left (the one to the right) seems like a simple cropped delta, but it might just be a trick played by the silhouette: I think it's compound, after all.

And another thing, the curve of the back of the plane is quite marked, and the plane itself seems to get pretty thin after the wing LE.

I'm now back.

The silhouette was from a large wind tunnel test model. American. early 1960s fo a Supersonic Transport aeroplane, designed for up to Mach 3.

Try NASA.....

More clues very soon.

Edit function not working.

The wing was indeed compound, where the outer panels were variable sweep.

Would you all like the original wind tunnel photograph?

Apparently it doesn't work just after you type the original message (a couple of minutes).
Next time I'll time the delay

OK. But it never had a time delay before, did it? I usually make a lot of mistakes with the original post and am glad of the ability to make a "quick fix". Not any more it seems.

Found a piccie (rear view) but it only says "An SST model in the cavernous test section of the Ames 40 x 80 foot tunnel" (in Langley, I guess).
