German. - YES
Biplane. _ Yes
Pre-1939?_ Yes earlier though late 1920s early 1930s.
Not a trainer. - Was intended as a trainer, I can find no evidence that it entered service with the Luftwaffe.
Inline engine. - Yes mostly BMW.
