Right Country. Wrong type of aircraft, this was not a parasol winged aircraft but it did have an inline engine.

Wrong type of aircraft
Well that's a shame mate. I was going to try for a Gotha 145 next.

German.
Biplane.
Pre-1939?
Minimal controls? Appears pedestrian in performance, but not a trainer.
Inline engine.

Hmmm....

Not a Luftwaffe aircraft then?

Perhaps the Arado Ar.66?

In the unlikely event I'm right, it will have to be OH.

Sorry chaps not from Gotha or Arado.
Taking up Graeme's analysis:-

German. - YES
Biplane. _ Yes
Pre-1939?_ Yes earlier though late 1920s early 1930s.
Not a trainer. - Was intended as a trainer, I can find no evidence that it entered service with the Luftwaffe.
Inline engine. - Yes mostly BMW.

G'day Mel.

One of the more famous German aircraft companies (Junkers, Messerschmitt etc) or a "rare" one?....

Thank you,Mel. An absolute miracle on my part, and entirely due to your excellent clues.
Here is the next challenge,but if you consider it to be of poor quality, I am more than happy to withdraw it;
