Well, it's three-engined and Russian, but apart from that I'm baffled.

The "AIRLINERS" watermark made me trawl the site, but to no avail.

Hi Bri. Sorry, not the Aircruiser. However this aircraft was from a very similar timeframe.

Sorry Aviate1138. Good guess, but not the Seawind. Only one of these aircraft was built, and it is still flying.

No more guesses? Another clue must be in order. The aircraft was built to test a then-novel construction material.

Not the Wassmer WA-50. This was built a little further north, and not by one manufacturer as such.

Not the MP2 Baladin, whatever that is! This aircraft was built in Germany by a consortium of existing manufacturers.

Yes, well done Bri. It is the LFU 205 built by Leichtflugtechnik-Union to test the new fangled fibreglass construction. It has been flown for years by the German Flight Test Organisation at Braunchsweig. More details at DLR - Flight Operations - LFU 205 You have control.

Clue time. The CRT display was a modification of the original instrument panel. The control yoke(s) are the original configuration.

One question, does it have a dual cockpit, side by side? I've seen that control yoke setup before, but for the life of me I cannot remember on what aircraft.

Obviously a very fast aircraft. The speed bugs on the airspeed indicator are very interesting, being set at 219kts, 205kts and 164kts respectively.

Yes, con-pilot, side-by-side pilots. You may have seen the original cockpit in a museum.

Isn't it the 737 that Boeing built as a test device? Your photo is of the (second) internal cockpit, and the aeroplane was a testbed for modern avioics systems etc., in particular the Boeing SST.

Open house if I'm right.

BSD.

BSD is correct. The earliest "glass cockpit", a NASA-FAA Boeing 737 TCV (Terminal Configured Vehicle) was equipped with flexible workstations of enhanced instrumentation based on the Boeing 2707 SST.
