Didn't witness it myself, but I was told the engines were run at idle for a while yesterday.

Change of Tone ?

With the apparent change of tone on the tvoc website, "what do you think?" etc, is there any realistic prospect of a stable year ahead?

I note that they're still not much closer, on the face of it, to a commercially sustainable routine and whilst comms have improved slightly to the masses over the last few months we're all pretty much in the dark. It does seem to me somewhat baffling that the stakeholders are still the last ones to hear very much.

On a practical side, as a business owner, I would have considered providing some form of sponsorship in kind if it was achievable (and I was happy that I wasn't just setting fire to money on a project), but when I look at their sponsorship tariff and opportunities its incredible to see little or no mention of any opportunities unless you want to put in £50k.

Does anyone know what, if any, professional sales and sponsorship support they have onboard?

Thanks

Aerobytes put in cash for Farnborough display and some other events but the aircraft went tech after Farnborough they have first hand experience.
But like you say, things have/are changing up there so it might be worth testing the water.
You need to speak to Michael Trotter at VTTS who would welcome a call and a chance to talk (no hard selling).
I would hope they would have a new rate card for 2009 taking into account current times.

*******The rumour at Farnborough is departure Tuesday lunch time. If I get any info I will post it. COULD BE 558's LAST FLIGHT?**************

NEGATIVE Feeling

hi

Why is it when ever you hear or Read about 558 Hardly anyone seems
positive . Its always "THIS PROBABLE LAST FLIGHT" well ifs that's the case
why spend money on this Repair and fuel Keep it Here at FAB at least
we would be happy to look after it. Come on get it home start feeling
well we did it , now we have few months to get it Ready for display
Season . Times are hard Yes but we all need to feel positive otherwise
Stay in Bed and hibernate.

Aero Inventory have put some money into the pot.

Aero Inventory plc - Vulcan to the Sky Trust Sponsorship

I have no idea how 'major' this sponsorship is, BUT it's definitely welcome and will hopefully help keep 558 running into 2009.

Departure Farnborough subject to WX 12.30 - 13.00. Best place would be Fleet Shopping Centre top floor car park (parking charges apply!)

Highly unlikely it will be routed over Fleet as it's well off the noise abatement route. Wind currently across the runway 6 kt but likely to increase by lunchtime. Will the weather at Brunty be suitable as it's VFR only?

Departure is Tuesday.

The a/c won't over fly Fleet as it has to avoid built up areas but if you want to watch it go with a good amount of sky then I suggest the shopping centre.

What's the situation today ? The sky is blue-ish and no rain, but the wind is a bit gusty. Is the Vulcan flying today and if so when ?

regards

In July the a/c routed to RAF Odiham, turning near Lasham then up to Newbury. Might do it again?
