She flew over Newbury just before 12.00 today. At long last I can now say I have seen her flying again after Fairford and Bournemouth non event and no show respectively.

Farnborough ATC requested the Vulcan to land on the short runway! After some discussion that idea was changed. Will put some footage on You Tube later.

I got some great piccies as it taxied in too!
Vulcan 903: 'short runway' merely means 1800m threshold instead of 2000m; not a lot of difference considering he floated about 200m before actually touching down.

This is on the BBC's website about today's flypast . . .
A Vulcan also took part - perhaps for the last time it will take to the air.
What's prompted that?

Lack of funding sadly.

Although it WILL fly again on the 18th; back to Bruntingthorpe.

After that, who knows; but it will be a travesty if it gets grounded now.

Planning to travel over to see her land at Bruntingthorpe on Sat. Will airfield be open for people to see her land? If not, where is the best place to park up (or do we follow the crowd?) Assuming arrival time is still 16:00 to 16:30?

Sorry to report, but XH558 will be staying at Farnborough for a couple more weeks. They need to change a brake.
