Which Aerodrome?
Not Warnemünde, warmtoast, but you are getting "warm" in a geographical sense, and by that I don't mean a ridiculous 1400 miles or so !
A circle drawn 1400 miles from Rostock runs through Southern Spain so is your non-clue

Otherwise how about Wismar in Germany?

Warmtoast, apologies if I did not make myself clear, you are on the right track in Germany, so please disregard the 1400 mile radius jibe. It refers to a recent post. The town/city adjacent to this airfield featured in the Thirty Years War, and the airfield also has a tenuous link to Yuri Gagarin!
Sabredog
Town featured in the Thirty Years War is the Treptow-Köpenick area of Berlin; Gagarin did some training at the Archenhold Observatory / Zeiss Planetarium here and what was the the former Johannisthal airfield is now a business park/industrial park.
So sticking my head above the parapet once again I suggest Johannisthal.

Correct, evansb. The photograph is of Trollenhagen as a Luftwaffe base, which later became Neubrandenburg-Trollenhagen.
As a DDR airfield it was the base for JG2 (Jagdfliegergeschwader 2 "Juri Gagarin"). Neubradenburg was recaptured from the Swedes by the Imperial Catholic League forces in 1631, although I do not believe Trollenhagen airfield played any part in this victory!
Many thanks for the excellent replies.
