sidtheesexist,
nearly correct, its in Vienna NW of Augarten but on the west bank of the Donaukanal. Today only the soccerfield exists. The Streetname is Nussdorferlaende.
During 1945 till 1955 the RAF base Vienna Schwechat, now Vienna Airport, and the USAAF Base Tulln (pict. 2899) were within the Russian zone of Austria. To communicate to the American and the British Zone in Vienna without travelling by road through the Soviet zone 2 landing fields were constructed. The American along the Danube canal, see picture, and the British in front of the Schoebrunn castle, which was as PSP runway.
Well done and over to You.

sorry for the delay - SD, not Helwan I'm afraid and Jabberwok not Habbaniyah. Being cryptic and referring to previous PMs I would have expected the two replies to be the other way round...

Well done Sir! you followed my train of thought from my Heliopolis shambles. Another wartime stop-off for the old man, 13 miles from Basrah.
