Virgin Australia - Phoenix Rising from the Ashes?
When you live....
Anyone crazy enough to book onto that flight is a bonus - just fill it with fuel and freight....
They won’t have issues filling seats. You’re looking at 2-3k over the next few months and that is via Manila, Hong Kong or Taipei. My son wanted to go and it was cheaper to fly United via Los Angeles. Qantas are after $5-6k in the next few months for economy.
They'll last as long as their Queensland Government AAIF contract dictates. Whether VA/NH operates beyond that contract is unknown.
Pains me to say it, but I’d go Jetstar on that trip length.
You think the MAX is bad wait until the Star drops the NEO on the run next year. 28' Pitch, 235 bodies, 8 hours...ohhhh and the rock hard Recaro seats with no headrest. TORTURE. Ohhhhhh but hold on its got a fancy USB port and mood lighting!
Anyone know if VA plan to re-start trans- Tasman flights to AKL, CHC and WLG.
The more competition the better for the consumer.
The legacy airlines have been milking the life out of the tit for too long now.

This is important when comparing what she has said about the NZ markets you mention - she has been explicitly clear that Tasman has always been a blood bath, that making money is extremely tough, etc etc.
Given that VA seems to be constrained by airframes at the moment (the markets they are introducing next year are when more aircraft arrive) I think it’s highly unlikely that Virgin will use airframes on AKL/CHC/WLG when they can be better utilised and more profitable elsewhere.

Well, the final touches of lipstick were applied JH and Co doing the IPO rounds to drum up some keen investors. Now and other hurdle due Too much instability in the financial world due to the fall of Credit Suisse.
Back to the future. NZ and VA applies for Trans-Tasman partnership (positioning when the current NZ/QF domestic codeshare agreement expires).
The proposed agreement does not extend beyond the Trans-Tasman (at this stage).

Sounds like another half baked Alliance for VA…just to make their program a little bit more amateur and piece meal.
