Project Sunrise
Delta FO more than QF Capt
How many & how long were the Delta/United/AA pilots laid off for post 2001 & post GFC
How many of the USA pilots lost all their pensions
Didn't they get unilateral contract changes post 2001/GFC , ie: 2001 reduced continental pilot wages by 20% at stroke of a pen
Who has done better this century the QF Pilots or pilots at the USA majors ?

For the most part the costs for each airline are equal; aircraft, fuel, airways charges, but one area where you can really do better than your direct competitor is staff costs. Not the cost of staff over the last century, not from lost pension plans dating back 2 decades but from the what it will cost you to fly the route tomorrow.
So Telfer, while I have the utmost sympathy for the US pilots who went through that period, it is utterly irrelevant to this discussion.

ConfigFull, what is/will there be to calculate?
QF want a backwards step in t&c’s and have threatened Armageddon if there is a NO vote.
Pilots have some self respect and value their contribution to the company.
It’s a pretty easy formula as far as I’m concerned.

You do realise everything you have written there is completely irrelevant when weighing a business case to compete on a route against US carriers??

If it was cheaper and more expeditious to have a separate entity operating these flights, it would be a done deal already.
If they want to base the remainder of the EA on threats and intimidation and an attempt to bypass the people entrusted to negotiate on our behalf, it will be a NO on principle.
Short of Amway, I have never seen a company promote the volume of propaganda QF are presently releasing. Webinars 2 or 3 times a week.....every week. Quite extraordinary.

Don't worry I absolutely agree - but after the EBA9 documents that went out there at the time, I'll never trust an AIPA document blindly again. Thanks for that one, Nathan.
I'm almost certain I read somewhere that QF has the second most office staff per aircraft in the world, behind BA.

Yet when the Ivory towers close and all the minions take leave over Christmas the airline seems to run just fine. If they need savings look no further.

Spare me.
"Tino has already conceded his package is worth 300 million bucks to the bottom line over the life of the project. The last webinar stated the project model is based over 20 years. 300 million will see them all high-fiving each other and popping champagne corks at the street if we vote YES."
$300 mm over 20 years - $15mm a year? they probably spend more than that on copier paper.....................

I thought it had been rather pleasant without him around. The boring repetitive rhetoric became too much
Getting required rest to operate a Sunrise in 3 years.....
I think he went off and started RRuNe (Rated De’s Rumour Network) where he can spout off endless anti-Qantas and anti-AIPA rhetoric to his hearts content. Each post is just Rated De backing up his last post. I think he’s hit the 1 million post mark already.
Wow ! Bold...
“Qantas boss Alan Joyce told reporters in Sydney on Tuesday that he had received a letter in the last 24 hours from an Australian China Southern captain who had been laid off and said he could get hundreds of expatriate pilots from China and Asia to operate Sunrise flights.
The captain had volunteered to set up a company to recruit them, he said.”
