Who has done better this century the QF Pilots or pilots at the USA majors ?
You do realise everything you have written there is completely irrelevant when weighing a business case to compete on a route against US carriers??

For the most part the costs for each airline are equal; aircraft, fuel, airways charges, but one area where you can really do better than your direct competitor is staff costs. Not the cost of staff over the last century, not from lost pension plans dating back 2 decades but from the what it will cost you to fly the route tomorrow.

So Telfer, while I have the utmost sympathy for the US pilots who went through that period, it is utterly irrelevant to this discussion.

It’s a pretty easy formula as far as I’m concerned.
Don't worry I absolutely agree - but after the EBA9 documents that went out there at the time, I'll never trust an AIPA document blindly again. Thanks for that one, Nathan.

I'm almost certain I read somewhere that QF has the second most office staff per aircraft in the world, behind BA.

If it was cheaper and more expeditious to have a separate entity operating these flights, it would be a done deal already.

If they want to base the remainder of the EA on threats and intimidation and an attempt to bypass the people entrusted to negotiate on our behalf, it will be a NO on principle.

Short of Amway, I have never seen a company promote the volume of propaganda QF are presently releasing. Webinars 2 or 3 times a week.....every week. Quite extraordinary.

Yet when the Ivory towers close and all the minions take leave over Christmas the airline seems to run just fine. If they need savings look no further.

"Tino has already conceded his package is worth “300 million bucks” to the bottom line over the life of the project. The last webinar stated the project model is based over 20 years. 300 million will see them all high-fiving each other and popping champagne corks at ‘the street’ if we vote YES."

$300 mm over 20 years - $15mm a year? they probably spend more than that on copier paper.....................

Don’t believe the BS about wanting the pilots to have all the information possible and hence why they are having webinars so often. They keep repeating the same crap anyway and keep dodging the tough questions. What they are doing is called ‘conditioning’. It’s an old trick real estate agents use all the time and the thing is, often it works! for them that is. So don’t be fooled and vote NO.

It was over a hundred, including options. Make what you will, of an insiders take on A350 orders.

I thought it had been rather pleasant without him around. The boring repetitive rhetoric became too much

Wow ! Bold...

“Qantas boss Alan Joyce told reporters in Sydney on Tuesday that he had received a letter in the last 24 hours from an Australian China Southern captain who had been laid off and said he could get hundreds of expatriate pilots from China and Asia to operate Sunrise flights.

The captain had volunteered to set up a company to recruit them, he said.”

Oh dear,

What an embarrassment you are Mr Joyce. The true definition of a leader (not). I feel for the employees of Qantas, being led by this fool.

LW,

It appears to be a legit website rather than satire. And I can also think of other terms than "bold". I'd assume these proposed "recruits" would be sticking their noses in a hornet's nest ?
