National Airlines

Guys,

Have posted previously about National Airlines, posting again because people are being caught out.

Be aware you will not get an E3 visa. They are trying to play games and putting people on a lower contract out of Dubai. Don't be fooled and fall for the "I always wanted to fly the 747" thing.
I knocked them back, and I always wanted that as well.

They will promise you the world and the E3, but the contract clearly states once you sign it, anything promised is null and void, and you owe a bond if you try to leave even if you haven't done the type rating yet. You come under UAE law, and you pass through there at any point, then expect to be arrested.

If your happy with a company behaving this way, then be my guest, but you have been warned.

There are waaay better options out there.

Capt Under Pants,

Not quite true- I know of heaps of blokes on the the E3 visa, who have signed the Dubai contract. The company is giving E3 visas to guys who want it. One bloke started last week, signed the Dubai Contract, went through Dubai and got his e3 visa. National has not done e3 visas before in their history so there have been teething problems. The company loves Aussies and want as many as they can get.

Havoc,

Maybe I was told wrong. Latest from people there is the initial batch of guys were finally getting their E3 visas, but guys after group 4 and back haven't got anything.
Maybe that will occur, fingers crossed for them.

I see some here are quite critical about the jobs available overseas, fair enough. If any of you have acquaintances in the 717 operation here in Oz, drop them a message and ask what is being rammed down their throat as we speak, you might get a picture of the sick ideologies coming your way. You shouldn’t base your sumptuous on the way things are now, but what the future agreements will look like and the future outlook in this country is dimming very quickly.

The BNE long haul cabin crew base is still all stood down. Today the Jet Connect cabin crew from NZ were brought in to crew the first BNE-LAX service, and the company sent out an email celebrating that despicable situation. As far as the company is concerned, minimum costs/max bonuses are all they want.

If I was a lot younger I would be in the US in a heartbeat despite some reservations about the political landscape. I think Australia is a great country, but more and more you will have to have serious money to live here, and more and more pilots won’t.

Alaskan DHC-8 operator, Ravn, has gone the E3 route. It's not 100% clear to me if they require an FAA ATP. The wording is a bit fuzzy in that regard:

"Non-Type Rated Pilots will be sponsored to complete a type rating (no bond). "

"Must meet the applicable Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) minimums as specified in 14 CFR Part 61 for either an ATP or Restricted ATP (R-ATP)."

Is that even legal? Have the unions taken Qantas to task over this?

The statement wasn’t totally correct. The brisbane based flighties have all been stood up. I think since the start of last bid period, 9 weeks ago. They’re also operating BNE-SIN.
The company wished to use the Aussie crew for BNE-LAX. However the FAAA made it perfectly clear that they do not accept the crew rest on the 330 for that sector length. Which is why the Jetconnect crew are being used.

Sounds like the comment was totally incorrect then!

Sounds more legitimate. What about the tech crew rest? Is that up to scratch?

My apologies Ladies and Gents. How many years is it going to take before I stop repeating F/A crew bus bitching?

Greetings everyone... has anyone actually attended Breeze interview apart from the video interview / recording. If yes then some insights would be helpful.

I have also noticed they are going through a recruiter now.

You don't have to go through a recruiter. You can apply on their website recruiting page.

I saw the 330 in LAX a few days ago. I was surprised, I didn't realize they could go that far.
