The BNE long haul cabin crew base is still all stood down. Today the Jet Connect cabin crew from NZ were brought in to crew the first BNE-LAX service, and the company sent out an email celebrating that despicable situation. As far as the company is concerned, minimum costs/max bonuses are all they want.
If I was a lot younger I would be in the US in a heartbeat despite some reservations about the political landscape. I think Australia is a great country, but more and more you will have to have serious money to live here, and more and more pilots won’t.
