Hey guys, does anyone know the current wait times for the e3 visa appointments in Melbourne?

Yes.........sort off. Some consulates are more relaxed than others. No problems in Melbourne, haven't heard of anyone being knocked back there.

The way I understood it is you need to get a letter from a university or the like, to say that your experience equals a degree. 3 Years experience is considered equal to 1 year of study. You pay for this letter. When I did mine a year ago they cost anywhere from US$200 to $500. That being said, I was never asked for it at my interview. Of course if I didn't have one they would have wanted it I'm sure.

I've never heard of this. Sounds like another scam to me. Not one person I know that went through the E3 process did this. It's 100% not required and doesn't say anywhere in any documentation that it's required.

You can google all you like, it won't give you an accurate timeframe. You'll find out online when you book the appointment. There are a few facebook groups tracking wait times as well.

Yeh I saw that, but I was questioning it’s accuracy. I was requesting for first hand experience. I heard that there may be a way to expedite the process depending on the start date.

Emergency Appointment needs a genuine emergency reason.

Just go to BKK SIN KUL to get it done.

To know which slot is actually available, you gotta pay up the visa fee which is nonrefundable first. Wanna risk that?

I believe the idea is that you wait for your visa to be issued and get your passport back. Do a bit of sightseeing.

From my research, it appears to be a couple of days turnaround.

I got mine brought forward from October to 2 days later using the expedite option, and did not declare an emergency reason.

"Keep making" implies that i have been making false statements continuously. Good for you it worked out. See how it's gonna work out for you in central America or Latin America on your next renewal. I'm just providing information based on my experience.

Exactly, I got my 1st one done in KUL precovid. Great way to see another country. Hotels and food are cheap as well in KUL/BKK.

I got knocked back for my first renewal at the Sydney consulate in 2019. They handed me a piece of paper saying I needed to provide proof of educational equivalency to a bachelor degree. After that my visa went to administrative processing. A couple of us have had issues at the Sydney consulate in particular. The officer said "Your company needs to stop sending applicants without this document".

I got the educational equivalency done by one of the approved mobs and emailed it off. Got my visa back two weeks later. It's not a scam, it is occasionally nessesary. I would do anything I can to avoid consulates with known issues though. Never heard of any similar problems at Perth or Melbourne.

bront I probably should have expanded on my experience, particularly with freshy1234's experience popping up. I've done a couple of E3's, different companies each time. Both mine have gone through the Melbourne consulate. Melbourne consulate staff are very laid back, asked me a few questions about the company, I didn't have a degree, this wasn't mentioned but he did ask me about my experience. Word on the street at the time was to stay away from the Sydney consulate due to what freshy said. No one I knew had any issues with Melbourne but I hadn't heard of actual experiences in Sydney until freshy's.
