Amilia you won't have long to wait. There are big changes coming to the Bne Hir route which will help your problem.I would talk longer but I am busy trying to find these mythical underground fuel tanks in Nauru that some ill informed poster invented

Feenix, in ITS' time there were servicable underground tanks, however his informant has forgotten to tell him that the fuel is now kept at another location.

So there is fuel available there now?? Times HAVE changed. I'm told reliably there was none available at xmas 2008 due to water contamination.

For such an "insignificant operation", you're taking significant interest in it's petty activities.
I wonder why. 'Small things amuse small minds' comes to mind.
The ON/OA B737-2/3/4 throughout the last few decades have done a splendid job with the BNE-HIR runs. They've only it them for....let's see.....40 years.
When all is said and done, and everyone else had been and gone and had their fill, from fatcats to carpet baggers to wantok pollies and expat experts, from lean times to times of plenty, bird flus and pigs, from coups to roos on tails and economic blues, virgins and hazbeens, solair in despair, etc etc etc this little operation has seen it all and has defied and survived sometimes incredible adversities.
And this, without any prejudice. Just fact of history.
They will not, as you say, be going anywhere any time soon.

It would appear some ill informed poster (I mean you ITSY) can't get any facts correct and I think it has become obvious to all that this boob simply has some personal vendetta. There was no water contamination of Nauru fuel now or in 08 so the so called reliable source is wrong again. ITSY how about you promise everyone that if OA are still around after October you and your alter ego BOOB will go away and let others enjoy a rational conversation. Last I will comment on a Personna non grata no matter how many sick PMs they send to try and stir.

I don't know why I bother other than to show you as inaccurate. There are so many inaccuracies I can't be bothered pointing them out and certainly won't to you as you don't listen, but as an example the first paragraph says the airline is based in Nauru which is wrong as its head office is in Brisbane. There are so many more errors regarding everything from aircraft types to the repossession senario. You said underground fuel was contaminated with water. There has been no underground fuel in Nauru for over fifteen years. Fuel was not contaminated with water. Why do you doubt facts from people who are on the ground and know what is happening ,instead believing your second hand inaccurate sources. A massive grudge I think fuels your obvious bias so look in a mirror to see someone being discredited

I have no idea what your personal beef is with ON. The airline has been around for years and has always tried to achieve and maintain the highest standards possible. It is one thing they do take seriously.
You would be surprised as to what is on the island, eg-the fuel tanks you refer to. There is a decompression chamber for scuba divers there.
Go down to the engineering section of the NPC and you will find an abundance of heavy machinery that could build parts for a space shuttle.
Great place to go fishing, as long as you know how to trailer your boat afterwards.
