Hot off the press just to show Big Baby knows bugger all. Although he may be right about something happening in October even if he is a few months wrong. He shouldn't believe everything he hears from sources like LK,KC or P.
What do you do if your competitors get newer more fuel efficient aircraft even if they use old Airbuses to achieve it. Answer you upgrade your own fleet with superior Boeing product and trade your classics for NG's
Watch this space!!!!!!!!!!!

Black Bandit,

I'm perfectly happy with the dictionaries from Webster and Oxford etc that I have. I have no need to buy any more.

I'm also perfectly happy, having conferred with an academic colleague who has amongst other credentials an English teaching position, that my post relating to "et al" is correct.

His comment: "The linking by the use of "et al" of the 369 post to the writings of others sharing the same sentiments as the writer of 369 is both contextually and grammatically correct." I think that puts that to bed, unless of course you are better credentialled.

It must be an interesting story as to why you dislike Our Airline so much. Your enmity is very apparent and it would be a Sisyphean task to get you to write something useful and purposeful.

I'm not surprised others are choosing to ignore you. During my post-prandial ruminations later I will probably decide to do the same.

89ers

I am unhappy to announce myself as an 89er.

I operated for many years with one of the big two in Aus into the pacific. In late 89, I became a permanent in the pacific. The pacific in my mind was a far better alternative than Asia and Europe. This has changed.

I am astounded at the respect afforded to us as "89ers". If any of the protohumans that frequent this thread bothered to ask an "89er" if we made the correct decision, most of us would respond in the negative. A lot of lives were ruined.

As for ellerbai, your high school english teacher friend, and your usage of Latin are incorrect. Basically bro you're in nephelokokkygia. Unless you are a ruminant, you will fare better by simply masticating during your prandial libations. Even though I would like to witness it, I sincerely hope you don't partake of your own vomit.

Since you appear to be a fan of Latin and it appears ancient Greek, perhaps you should attempt to get it right. Your usage of sisyphean is also incorrect. Amateur.

I prefer my bathycolpian life greatly.

Back to the thread neophytes..

I would also appreciate it if you would let us know what high school your friend teaches at, as you would be doing us all a favor in preventing our grandchildren from his/her inept abilities.

Then, BlackBandit, if you're SO clever, are you able to provide an explanation of how the use of "et al" is wrong rather than just a statement to that extent - and then nothing?

Otherwise, several definitions for you:-

Sisyphean definition
Sisy·phean (sis′ə fēən)

adjective
  1. of or like Sisyphus
  2. endless and toilsome, useless, etc. a Sisyphean task
Sis⋅y⋅phe⋅an  /ˌsɪsəˈfiən/adj
1.of or pertaining to Sisyphus.
2.endless and unavailing, as labor or a task.

Thus, my usage is correct, and more to the point, most apt.

Ah-, Kiddies, Kiddies!!! This may be fun, watching a spat, but I prefer to look for other things in these threads. Prefer Colleen McCullough's "Masters Of Rome" series for my Latin and Greek, even though it it is fiction (mostly) based on real events and people. She has them say things and think thoughts they would be surprised to read if they were around today. But at least they come across as real people, even after 2,000 or more years. Hope none of these threads are being read, unedited, in two thousand years time, -what would they make of it!! You both sound like the sort of nitpicky people I have worked with on occasion, who couldn't see a forest for the trees, have to have a last word, and just love to shaft. They also carry the Cassius-Brutus gene.
That said, -as history repeats, if you recognise the signs you can anticipate the blade "sometimes", unless you're wanton. Like watching an engine for rough running I guess. Just love my history, but prefer to live in the present.
Cheers

The forest!!!

Frigate, thanks for agreeing with me. I'm looking at the forest bro. The others here aren't so much looking at the trees as opposed to swinging in them.

Ivan, Ivan, Ivan.

You just dont get it do you.

Your tense is wrong brother. Your tense is wrong. Anyone cant look up a dictionary, but you have to understand what you're reading. You just don't get it.

A bit like most of your comments on here.

Gawd, amateurs!!! They're like pacific airlines, completely out of their depth!!!

Then why the condescending attitude and downright criticism to those trying to make OA work?
An explanation is that you must be one of those with vested interests in seeing the demise of this airline.
Another is that you have a grudge with OA and for some demented and vengeful reason would just love to see her demise.
In any case, you've shown yourself quite the person that no one wants to know personally or professionally.

Frigate, thanks for agreeing with me.
Gee, BB, doesn't sound very much like Frigatebird is agreeing with you, or me for that matter. How you deduce that is rather twisted thinking.

I've noted Frigatebird's observations and realise that I've descended to your level. Anyway, I agree with the sentiments of Feenix et al.
I'll reply only to you once you raise your standards and begin posting something of worth. I don't expect I'll be doing much typing as a consequence.

And finally,
in preventing our grandchildren
God help us if you've got kids and grand kids and they are anything like you.
