The only extra equipment required for the bus is a new set of stairs

WITWIW

Yes Honiara is out in the Boon docks, but even still Honiara has the ability to unload containerized Aircraft.
767's 727's 737's, yes with a JCPL thingy bob
One can just about get anything to run on coconut oil.

As others have pointed out, not all and maybe most don't use containers, yes belly loading is a pain especially when one has been spoil t with using containers.
Take off the white shirt, put on a blue singlet, and will be very very surprised as to how much work can be done with some attitude and a little sweat?

Over serviced yes, but one needs to understand that operating in the Pacific requires certain attributes and an understanding of the Islands Ways.

Sounds like I've had to many coconuts fall on my head you say , maybe, or just that I love my job.
Sad in this day and age isn't it.

Only stay if you love the place because you will never grow rich.
There are some just happy doing a good job and happy just making a living.

Then there are others, well one can only wonder why and what they are doing here?

We can all do the sums as well as you Feenix...

but our job is to fly the aeroplane and let the accountants work out the cost?

Pilots making operational decisions based on costs worries me!

And I wouldn't think you would do that?

Skystar 320 I wasn't talking about operating costs but charter rates as that is what Solly will have to pay and I would think $9000 per hour for an A320 would be cheap if anything.
Obie we don't all have the luxury of just flying aircraft as some have to multi-task but even so I don't quite see what you mean about operational decisions made on costs. It is simply a statement of one aircraft being able to fly direct under EDTO and the other not being able to and hence taking longer due to its changed tracking.BB correctly pointed out its is only another 10 minutes and I was pointing out how much that costs over a year.

Happy to be proven wrong, but I don't think you can load an A320 with a standard JCPL. I believe you need a special small one.

I see the NLK flying shedule has been reduced quite a bit for the winter. I guess that reduction and the loss of the SolAir flying will have a bit of an impact on you guys.

Hopefully a bit of charter or other contracts around.

SCO the winter schedule fits in well with our maintenance requirements and no change to HIR as we go there anyway on our way to Nauru and will now carry pax in our own right. So overall no real change

Hi Folks
For interest I fly a A320 all around Europe without containers, 35 min to load and unload bags for 180 pax, all done by three men and a belt loader.
For all the know all’s, you should listen to my father’s advice.” If you don’t know what you’re talking about. Shut up!"

Then why cant I book tickets on their website on that route...?

And why are they trying to source diferent routes to Nauru if Hon is profitable for them?

Because at the moment they are in an agreement with Solly but that ends at the end of July and secondly it's called being proactive which is why they are still around after 30 plus years

No not touchy. Simply questions asked, questions answered. If you don't know the story behind OA then you mustn't have read this thread. OA is simply a trading name for its parent Nauru Air Corporation and that has been around as stated

More questions then..

Maybe they would do better if they were an IOSA member?

I mean it couldnt hurt could it?

Why the name change if its the same mob? I just dont get it. It all sounds a bit dodgy?

Nothing dodgy. If you have any idea you would note that most if not all airlines have many entities under various banners. While I appreciate your input our management run our business in a manner they see fit and won't be making commercial decisions as a result of advice from a PPrune poster. They are still here while others have come and gone so they must be doing something right.
