BB I can't see how you interpret my post as AGRO as I am simply answering your questions. If you read the previous posts close enough to note the time lines you should have also had the answers to your previous questions or are you just s--t stirring. Anyhow no malice taken or given

Wow, about 95% of the negative posts on OA are coming from 5% of the posters in this thread ie ithinkso and blackbandit!! What's with these guys that they should see fit in bagging this gutsy little airline? There must be an agenda to discredit the tireless efforts in making this operation work. Surely there's bigger and more ruthless operators that deserve your attention.

I'm sorry. I didn't see any questions. Just statements that are NOT true. And if I chilled out any more than I naturally am, I'd have dreadlocks.

Well, I must admit Sal-e, that knowing you in years gone by, I could imagine you in dreadlocks!

However, I digress. I agree with your sentiments that the negative turkeys on this thread are just that...Turkeys!!

OA

Well.. just when things were starting to sound intelligent on this thread obie sticks his head up and returns it to the gutter.

After investigating the last few posts I can confirm that OA is not an IOSA registered airline. And from what I am told they are nowhere near being anywhere in the close vicinity of reaching the standard required.

This may have a negative effect on there operation as their code share partners are making it a requirement in a few months. OOps, no more code share with QF into norfolk.

And as far as you operating through Santo because you are cross with sollies, good luck, Air Van wont code share because you are not IOSA registered.

Sorry, October looms..

Dan where the hell did Santo come from. There is no need to go anywhere but HIR to INU as they have the rights to do so. Also who said they have to codeshare. You have a good imagination Dan but it is nothing like the facts.Come on October

And Sollie itself has to do the hard yards, and lift its game, and pass an (overdue) audit - or/and shuffle the deck once more.

Having been involved with IOSA audits in the Middle East, it's not really that great a deal to become an IOSA registered airline. Why are you making it out like OA doesn't have what it take to survive such an audit?
Whoever's been telling you otherwise once again have an agenda and vested interest to see the demise of OA.
This airline has already proven time after time that it has done what's needed to be done and more to progress, improve and evolve, and will continue to do so. They're good at dealing with shifting goal posts....damn good.

Obie, my sentiments exactly about Sal-e. Bass guitar and the locks...sheesh!
Sorry i digressed. Could not help it.

Did somebody mention an audit of IE? Inshallah!

Can someone tell me how the CEO of IE got his job, cos if i remember correctly, he was hired as Chief Pilot to get them an AOC etc etc Of course this never eventuated and in the end he.....
Is there really no one who can do the job locally? How many airlines has he gone through?

I keep meaning to offer Strategic some advice of how to deal with IE and specifically its boss......argh, why bother, let them learn the hard way.

Grease the monkey!

AOC

Solomon Airlines has an AOC. (AUS Foreign).

Who ever said they didnt, apart from the doom sayers.

Andas far as dealing with IE, its really very, very simple. Its called cash up front..

Its worked in the past.

cash up front
and as long as corruption persists IE will never realise anywhere near its potential.

Solomon Airlines has an AOC. (AUS Foreign).
and a fat lot of good that is when you don't have an aircraft of your own. Will the A320 operate under that AOC (assuming, of course it operates at all, and that is yet to become anywhere near certain)?

T-B, ITS has gone away - why didn't he take you with him seeing you two are so close ...................... ???

Air Nauru was never an IATA member right from the outset. Didn't stop its operations then. Can't see how IOSA will affect OA (??)

IOSA

Not being an IOSA registered airline greatly inhibits your ability to sell tickets.

It will affect them in as far as QF will not code share with them after a certain date this year. I think its around July. QF will ONLY code share with IOSA cerified airlines as of that date.

So this will greatly affect their Norfolk runs. OA approached Air Vanuatu to codeshare into Santo because OA is finding it tough flying to HON for fuel whilst empty. Air Van, regardless of what they say, will not code share with a non IOSA registered carrier.

Simple.

A new day

Hi there fellow aviators,

I have been watching this thread for a while and it's not really for me to comment. But I would just like to say that you guys all sound a bit negative towards each other. We should just stick to the facts here and all be greatful that we've got jobs! Tough times are ahead and I for one am already feeling the heat by being forced to take leave. So if I could just say "lets be greatful"

Have a great day!
