You let the cat out of the bag Rabbit. Hope those viet gals are treating you well.
Been in India, Africa, Japan and a lot of other places but this is simply the best gig in town. VOR into HIR, NDB/visual into INU, and ILS into BNE, just cant beat that for a great day of flying. Drive home to the wife and kids in Brisvegas...utopia!
East of Kasku, haha!

As in korapa KASKU? Hahaha. Don't you just love those atolls?
Gotta agree with the best gig in town/village/city/sheikdom.
Have been to most places between 10West to 120E and the flying at OA still ranks highest to me.

Nearly three weeks in the bush without the internet and I get back to the same inane comments from ITS, and this despite his promise to behave!!!! He is considered an idiot by many, and rightfully so - if there were Olympics for idiotic statements then ITS would have all the Gold Medals.
Can't resist commenting on a couple of his statements:
So, then, where is the logic in worsening the problem as will happen if the A-320 goes ahead? And where is the business sense in entering such a market? I hear Strategic are moving into the former SAW offices, sounds like they've got a common business acumen as well.
C'mon, how do you exepct a -320 to get loaded/unloaded without a JCPL to lift the ULD's in and out? You can't seriously do it with just a belt loader. That would mean having either having loaded the bags loosely in the first instance, or, climbing in, manually unloading the ULD's and then sending the bags down the belt loader. Both are impractical and would be a 2-hour exercise at best with a full aircraft - although Sollie won't have to worry about that too much (see ITS's first quoted comment)
So, ITS, you continue to post rubbish - pure rubbish in your support of a new operator. Are you involved?
Can't resist commenting on a couple of his statements:
IE, ON, PB, talk about route saturation ................. Some operators will have to go
The only extra equipment required for the bus is a new set of stairs

WITWIW I think so (Shore knee) is more than involved. Read his posts carefully and you will see he has put his own money in and will be in Hir soon to oversee their demise I suspect. It also explains his hatred of OA and his bias for the Airbus. Government guaranteed contracts to the desert are very different to survival in the Pacific.
I'm getting the impression some of you chaps are jealous that you never got to fly the Trislanders. I could of course be wrong. Atoll flying was indeed enjoyable. However lengthy this ON thread goes, my best regards to those who crew the route to the Central Pacific. Many fond memories.

Rabbit, never flew the Tri, but had lots of pleasure in the 212. Atoll flying flying was indeed great fun, however, i never terrorised the locals, only an idiot who decided to cross in front of me during takeooff out of NON.
Keep in touch with RG and KP and tell them, you are still interested. We are being told to tool up for some more work, dunno where or when, but you never know, might be a slot available for a little terror!

A320 - Air New Zealand
Air New Zealand operate an A320 on a Saturday between Auckland and Norfolk Island - NZ814 AKL 0935 NLK 1100.
I don't believe there is any special loading equipment on Norfolk Island.

... and Freedom Air used to do it with their A320s, which I believe are now badged as Air New Zealand? Standard belt loaders are fine.
The baggage handlers I knew preferred ULDs because the A320 holds are so small and cramped to work in for a loose load, but it's entirely possible. I don't know what impact (if any) it has on the load capacity.

I hear Srategic A320 is non etops and must therefore go the long way around to Hir. Looks like ITS comments re the B737-300 being not as good on the run aren't as accurate as what he says as we can go direct. What you reckon Shore knee

A320
Dont know for sure, but I think the long way around is only another 10 mins or so, and with the M.79 cruise speed it may be much of a muchness.
Not as efficient sure, but probably cheaper on the fuel too? Maybe
