Jimbo125 - I hadn't heard anything, eep! What stage is cancelled (or is it all stages)?

Thanks.

Jimbo125 15th October 2012 11:04

Stage 2.

Can't get a refund for my accommodation either, really can't afford to be losing this sort of money right now as I'm out of work for the next few weeks

woj 15th October 2012 11:05

First stage

Hi all, I was just wondering if everyone has heard back from their stage 1 yet?
I sat mine on the 1st at 9am, got through the first exam and managed to answer around 80% on the next two tests.
So far I haven't heard a thing, so I can only assume that I haven't made the grade, but thought I would ask if everyone else is in the same boat!

malakajin 15th October 2012 11:10

Same here woj

jfalc 15th October 2012 11:15

Jimbo125 - that's really not good, will NATS not accept a request for refund or anything? They must understand that we can't all afford two lots of accom/transport costs!

Jimbo125 15th October 2012 11:24

@Jfalc

I'm waiting on news regarding refunds.

My accommodation cost me £75 which is non-refundable due to the type of booking and my train ticket cost me £40 which I apparently can't refund either.

I have now had to lay out £80 for another hotel which is further away from the testing centre and will have to borrow some money for the train ticket.

Not the start to the day I was hoping for :(

rr9 15th October 2012 11:32

refunds.

i'd get on to their hr/pr department, or whatever it's called, and ask for a refund cos that's pretty poor from them at such short notice.
i duno if it'd work but it's worth a try.

malakajin 15th October 2012 11:51

@ rr . If you phone HR with a matter of recruitement they will transfer you to a robot and you have to leave a message which MIGHT be answered in 2 working days . Best bet is to borrow , attend and then ask for a refund . I wonder about those who lost an airline ticket ...

mtanz0 15th October 2012 14:28

@woj, Other people have heard back mate. I sat mine on the 4th and still nothing. Taking into consideration that other people have heard back and in some cases, sat stage 2, it would certainly appear, although not be conclusive, that we didn't quite make it. I've certainly prepared myself for a disappointing email at some point in the near future. There's always the possibility that in some cases it does take two full weeks to receive a response, either positive or negative.

sambatc 15th October 2012 15:25

in the past, positive responses have been received that took more than a few days to come through - myself included - so don't lose all hope.

Eptesicus 15th October 2012 16:33

Anyone who had their Stage 2 on Friday heard yet? I am guessing no news is bad news. I heard back the next day after stage 1...:(

rr9 15th October 2012 16:45

stage 2

so anyone who sat stage two on friday have their results yet?

d19err 15th October 2012 20:19

Application

Hey tim, I applied back in August and still not heard from them in writing since my online test. I called and they said I had passed but still had no confirmation or invite to stage one. Only thing is I think they are pushing x amount of candidates through the full process for a November start.

mike_foyle 16th October 2012 09:30

I sat my stage one on October 4th. Still not heard back :(

Annoying news for those of us with trains and accommodation booked

I got that phone call yesterday morning advising me the tests today (Tues) were cancelled due to computer failures or something, and that new dates would be released - having seen from other posts how quickly released dates were disappearing as people booked onto them.

Got my email through less than an hour later and to my surprise the 10am session for Tues was on the list of choices :suspect:

Anyway there was another slot for tomorrow (Wed) so I've booked onto that instead.

The only difference about the email confirmation is the length of the day. My first booking said to be there for 8:30 as the testing day was 9:00 - 16:30.

This new booking says the day is 10:00 - 15:30, shorter at both ends of the day, and no mention of getting there so early.

To anyone that has already been to the NATS HQ in Fareham - what was the parking like? On my way back from stage 1 I drove to the office to see it and it seemed as if every available piece of space - sides of road, grassy areas etc. were being used to park on

Crazy Voyager 16th October 2012 11:33

Parking spaces are few, as I've understood it the amount of spaces have been reduced to promote bus travel, only problem is that no buses actually go to that area (AFAIK anyway)...

Posijohn 16th October 2012 13:42

I applied for Stage 1 on the 8th July. They still haven't sent me the invite to do the online test. I have emailed them a few times since then and all I get back is someone telling me my application is still being considered/someone will let me know.

I applied last year and had no problems at all, but this year it's ridiculous. Is anyone else in the same situation as me?

Snowdude2910 16th October 2012 13:43

Hi all, I had stage 2 assessment on Friday anyone heard anything back yet? As for parking I found it ok I parked in visitors parking outside the main reception.

malakajin 16th October 2012 14:00

If you read through the last 20 pages of this thread you'll find out that many RE-applicants are in the exact same boat .

fibble 16th October 2012 15:59

@woj

i sat the same test (9am on the 1st) and haven't heard either. i did email them (:=) and they just said 15 days hadn't passed, so at least no outright no.

loads of people seem to have got results but i haven't seen anyone at our sitting post a pass or fail yet...maybe our group has ended up bottom of a pile somewhere.

Frenchmax 16th October 2012 20:25

I'm from the 4 October and still no answer.
Is there someboby who sat recently stage 1 or online test?
I have the feeling that no more people receive invite for stage1. Maybe NATS has enough people for November courses.

The expected bad news just arrived after 14 days. I didn't make it.

malakajin 17th October 2012 09:36

Got my rejection today ! sat it on the 1st oct

Frenchmax 17th October 2012 09:38

I also received the mail few minutes ago.
I didn't make it (as expected)

Megamc 17th October 2012 09:42

Waiting

after 15 days waiting ...... no comments:oh:

fibble 17th October 2012 10:37

i'm out too:(

Eptesicus 17th October 2012 10:45

So has anyone who took stage 2 on Friday heard yet?

rr9 17th October 2012 10:48

@eptesicus

no i haven't. i thought it went ok so was fairly optimistic, but as time goes by i'm getting ever more afraid of bad news. no one on here has posted either way from friday's group.

Eptesicus 17th October 2012 10:50

Me too. The longer i don't hear the longer i am thinking it is bad news. Although i wasnt hugely optimistic after it....in fact i didnt know what to think (I couldnt decide whether i did ok or not!).

I heard back the next day when i passed Stage 1..

rr9 17th October 2012 10:58

@eptesicus

yeah i'm getting a little worried, although it's still only a couple of working days gone so far, so it's not so bad.
i also heard they had technical difficulties over the last day or so, that may have affected either our results or them sending them out to us.

PilotPieces 17th October 2012 11:29

Sat on 4th, I'm out too.

Good luck to everyone who got through.

Rae_M 17th October 2012 12:12

Just got the email - didn't get it

malakajin 17th October 2012 12:26

Black wednesday ! :D

Eptesicus 17th October 2012 12:49

Didnt get through Stage 2 :(

rr9 17th October 2012 13:09

@eptesicus

unlucky mate, did they email or phone you or what? i still haven't heard.

dmc02 17th October 2012 13:11

I still haven't heard from the stage 2 day I had on 28th September! I am certain it won't be good news but makes no sense that so many people have heard from subsequent days, both positive and negative

rr9 17th October 2012 14:26

stage 2/3

just got the email, i'm through to stage three :). booked in for tuesday 30th. any advice would be welcomed.

Snowdude2910 17th October 2012 14:32

Congratulations was your stage 2 on friday? I just got email didn't get through I'm not sure if it's worth applying again as I understand stage 2 is something you'll either pass or you wont isn't it?
I've applied 2 time first time didn't really give atc test credit for what it was flicked through the test materials on a sunlounger on holiday and thought ah I'll wing it. This time I could recite al 28planes and all their info from memory but failed level 2 which I thought went prety well apart from the number sorting.

sambatc 17th October 2012 14:59

rr9 - just do what NATS tell you in their email, and the stage 3 info sheet. When I failed my Stage 3 I was confident that if I'd focussed more on that, and less on "additional" preparation, I would have got through.

Harida5a 17th October 2012 14:59

Guys, where am I able to find more Diagramming and Cubes test in the internet ? Does anyone knows some websites where can I practice ?

rr9 17th October 2012 18:14

stage 2/3

@snowdude, yeah i was there on friday. i think you can practise and get better at these things, but it's true that i've always had a knack for spacial awareness games etc, so maybe it's a little bit like you either can or can't do it. i certainly wouldn't wana rule anyone out though, if you work hard i'm sure you can train your mind.
@sambatc, tbh they haven't told me a great deal, and i don't know what you mean by the stage 3 info sheet either. when i got my email today saying i'd passed, i got another one from them but it was completely blank. i'm wondering if that's a technical issue from their end and there's info on there i need to know. i'll give them a call in the next few days to see if they can explain it.
