Anybody else invited at this stage? It will be exciting to finally communicate with Air Services directly and meet some of the others passionate about pursuing this career.

I also received an invite to the virtual assessment centre for next week. Good luck Squigels!

Squigels 22nd Sep 2021 03:13

The afternoon sessions filled up quickly!

I'll be attending the morning session on September 29th if anyone else here chose the same time.
Good luck everyone ☺️

corza 24th Sep 2021 08:56

I am also down for a morning session on the 29th. That was the only session I could make work around my current work commitments. Good luck everyone! :)

Squigels 29th Sep 2021 05:09

Good luck to everyone who was invited to Assessment Centre sessions this week, as well as anyone who is invited in the future!
Regardless of the outcome it's been an honour to make it this far and meet others passionate about pursuing the same career.

EKalpha 29th Sep 2021 11:33

Had my assessment day this afternoon - Felt like that actually went quite well! I hope you guys had a good experience with it. Hopefully we make it through :ok:

Squigels 29th Sep 2021 12:48

I'm a bit anxious about my anecdotes in the individual interview. Haven't had much experience in any stressful situations working solely in retail my life so far.
Found the other aspects of the day much more enjoyable and confident I did reasonably well.

Kavorka 2nd Oct 2021 13:25

Hey everyone with the advertisement for trainee ATC.. It says you need to have completed secondary study but it doesnt say that it has to be done in the last 10 yrs.. but on the FAQ it says completed something in the last 10 yrs? Does anyone know if that is the case? Any help would be great.. thanks..

EKalpha 2nd Oct 2021 18:49

Hey Kavorka, on the website it says this on the ATC trainee page:You must be able to provide evidence that you have obtained ONE of the following requirements in the past 10 years:
  • a Year 12 Certificate
  • a completed Tertiary Diploma
  • a completed Degree
  • a current Commercial Pilot Licence or Private Pilot Licence.
AKA this link here: http://www.airservicesaustralia.com/...aining-program

This one is a bit more comprehensive than the link provided in the job ad - I think so long as you have finished year 12, but have a further qualification gained within the past 10 years, you meet the requirements. I hope this helps!

You know though, you always perform better than you think you do in interviews. Fingers crossed for good news this week!

Got the phone call from the National Recruitment Manager this afternoon notifying that my references will be contacted shortly. Anybody else at this stage?

Congratulations! I'm also sending through references, can't imagine what may result in being unsuccessful after making it this far but we'll have to wait and see.
Which stream were you choosing as a preference? En route or Tower?

corza 8th Oct 2021 23:23

Congratulations to those who made it through. I also received the call and my references were contacted yesterday. My preference was Tower stream, but I'd honestly be happy with either.

hopefulatc 8th Oct 2021 23:38

References also contacted yesterday. Now that we're at the pointy end, things seem to be picking up speed.

It was a difficult decision, but I preferenced en route. Similarly, I would be happy with either.

EKalpha 9th Oct 2021 01:52

Congrats guys! That's brilliant news. I got an email yesterday to say they are still reviewing my assessment day group - hopefully might still get some good news next week!

foreff 13th Oct 2021 02:21

Hi guys and girls, I received a call today to confirm a starting date for the 6th of December 2021 for en route. Hoping good news also comes your way soon!

hopefulatc 13th Oct 2021 04:42

Got my verbal offer today for the en route course starting on 6th December (subject to a Class 3 Medical of course). Anybody else joining me at the Academy?

corza 13th Oct 2021 11:04

That's great to hear guys! I had a missed call today so hopefully I find out some good news tomorrow. Congratulations!

blakemc 14th Oct 2021 00:22

I got my verbal offer over the phone yesterday too, ENR course starting December 6.

Good to see a few others joining me too!

Share House Melbourne

Hi there

I’m also starting Dec 6 as enroute Brisbane based.
I’ll have the accomodation issue for down there, if anyone is in a similar boat and wants to get a share house together please PM me.

Congrats and good luck to you all.

corza 14th Oct 2021 06:33

Received my verbal offer today for an en route course in late March. I'm very excited and this is perfect timing for me. December would have been tight to make happen.

Squigels 14th Oct 2021 09:50

Tower - December

Hello,
I was made an offer for Tower Stream with training to commence December. Anybody else accepting a similar offer?

Good luck and congratulations to all who made it through recruitment :)

ccie420 17th Oct 2021 03:21

Congratulations to those who made it through all those hard test steps!

Starting Dec

Hi all...

Well done to all who passed the assessments - I will be starting the en-route course in December and look forward to meeting some of you there!

Blackspot 19th Oct 2021 22:24

How did the process work for those in Melbourne?

The process was the same for all nationally. Online aptitude testing, followed by a recorded video interview, then a virtual assessment centre via Teams in lieu of the face-to-face assessment centre.

Lucy Wu 15th Nov 2021 08:18

Anyone applied recently? I just completed the online testing. Waiting for response now.

Pilot_ATC 30th Nov 2021 03:58

Hi all,

Congrats to those who got through the last round of applications! I have just completed the video interview. Was just wondering if you guys could provide more info about what the assessment day involves! Cheers

Online testing

Hi everyone, can someone please tell me the difficulty level of online testing as compared to SHL free test assessments as i scored very badly ( around 40% ) in them. Just need to figure out if it's worth pursuing or not.

corza 2nd Dec 2021 00:58

Good luck Lucy Wu.

Pilot_ATC, make sure you get a good nights rest. Its a good experience and something you will enjoy. Good luck. :)

Stuggler 2, I would suggest working on the SHL assessments. If you have already put an application in and have been invited to participate in the online testing then you may as well give it a red hot crack. Withdrawing or not making it past the online testing both count as one of your two application attempts. Good luck. :)

Online Testing

Hey guys,

In regards to the online testing, can someone confirm to me if the maths component is "Numerical Calculations" (As written in the ASA email) or is it "Numerical Reasoning".

Thanks for anyone's help...

I know of someone who applied in Sep/Oct 2021. Did first assessment early Oct. Then moved on to further online tests. Did video interview in early Nov. Has now been invited for assessment centre in Feb 2022. Hope this helps.

That wasn't really what Pilot_ATC was saying lmao..

TYFY_resilience 10th Dec 2021 03:51

Anyone pass the online SHL tests and have now been told about a series of new online tests? Seems to be different to the online virtual assessment day that others were given. New step??

Gavin Kukard 10th Dec 2021 03:54

Hey everyone,

Just to let you know if you were interested, I applied on the 15th Nov 2021, then received instructions to do online testing on the 3rd of December which I completed this past Tuesday (the 7th). Then today (10th) I received 3 separate emails with instructions to do another set of online tests. This caught me a bit off guard as I thought the next step would be a video interview, and then an (online via Teams?) assessment centre?

Has anyone else been involved in this process during the past few weeks? Anyone know how these second tests are?

Cheers, Gav

Gavin Kukard 10th Dec 2021 04:00

Hey TYFY_resilience , you inbox says its full mate. Tried replying to your message. Cheers, Gav

TYFY_resilience 10th Dec 2021 04:35

Tried again... Cheers.

Indeed, however in line with the rest of this thread I am unwilling to disclose the specifics of the assessment session.
