Interesting though - I've also picked up serious rumblings EZY are keen to operate 4xdaily LGWMAN...

FCO-VCE 14/7 and VCE-NAP 14/7 (W-Pattern by FCO a/c) from 8th June.

There must be 3 a/c at FCO (1 overnight from MXP). In the morning there will be flights to MXP (07:15), PMO (07:00) and VCE (06:50) from FCO.

LGW-MAN, why not but IMO 4 daily is a bit too heavy.

Does anyone know the reason why Easyjet has cancelled its Tuesday flight from Bristol to Olbia? I was due to fly to Olbia from Bristol on the Tuesday flight and received a letter this morning saying the flight has been cancelled. It appears Easyjet has replaced the Tuesday flight with Wednesday instead. Thanks

whens the flight for?

could be down to a number of things from low bookings, no aircraft available (which i doubt) or schedule changes coming into the summer months (beginning april i think)

I know this is different, but coming up on one of my Ryanair flights in May; the day has been put forward from Wednesday to Thursday.

I just rang the reservations department - ticked changed to the Tuesday flight; free of charge.

Try and do the same?

Nikolai.

The flights is for September. I have contacted Easyjet and changed the flight for the following day. Thanks both.

The Tuesday flight seems to have been axed, not moved to Wednesday.

The easyJet timetable originally showed this summer-only route operating on Tue, Wed, Thurs and Sat (in fact, the web timetable still does) but the web booking engine is only showing flights available on Wed, Thurs and Sat.

Not a surprise in the current economic circumstances because last summer the flight operated on Tues, Thurs and Sat, so a fourth weekly rotation this summer would probably have been optmistic.

I have read on another forum that Easyjet will not be flying to Tenerife this winter. Whilst not wanting to post sensationalist rubbish I just wanted to know if this rumour has any basis in fact?

Load factors every time I have flown on this route seem good all year round.

If so its interesting they are dropping one of the old GB Airways routes so are passengers migrating to BA or someone else.

Have done the route off peak and majority of passengers seem to be the crinklies and wrinklies and wonder if Easyjet found some resistance there. Can't think why they would just seems strange to drop it.

I know the canary routes are very lucrative for FR and smaller airlines such as ZB and LS so I don't see why they wouldn't be for U2.

Probably just sh*t stirring.

Heard a rumour that the new aircraft for LPL will be a A320 to do Cyprus, Crete and Athens (Naples, Dubrovnik and Bordeaux already announced) any truth in it?

MUFC_fan
17th Mar 2009, 16:43
If it is to fly to Crete, Athens and Cyprus from the NW it will be MAN not LPL.

I doubt LPL will be seeing these routes any time soon as they are also MAN based routes. MAN will most likely get the A320s while A319s will be the main beasts at LPL

You may well be right, I cannot remember whether its this year or next that they base another aircraft at Liverpool.

Not sure that Fuerteventura was lucrative for Ryanair otherwise it would not have pulled out when the airport refused to accede to demands. It would not make sense for Easyjet to fly to Tenerife 5 and 7 times a week in the Summer and then to pull out in the winter which is peak season for the Canaries. It's not as if there are other obvious leisure destinations to fly to instead during the winter.

What happened to the Stansted to Basel route........

Looks like EasyJet are concentrating on LGW to Basel with two flights a day Monday to Thursday. Ryanair fly STN to Basel, but not everyday.

Ouch £65 pp is a lot. Other consideration is a one way car hire if more than 2 people but even then its marginal.

malc4d
18th Mar 2009, 12:06
Tell me about it.
Cambridge to Gatwick return is around 65 and is 3 hours each way, With the car can take any where from 1 1/2 hours each way to all day if M11 or M25 blocked. :ugh:

Guess Ryanair has got some new customers. When do they start flying there ?

When did Easy Stop flying there ? l only found out as we went to book Easter hols.

Malc if the flying days from STN to Basel don't suit I can recommend flying STN to Friedrichshafen which Ryanair do daily. There are direct trains from Friedrichshafen airport to Basel Bad. Costs 19 euros for one person or 28 euros for upto 5 or 6 with a Baden-Württemberg-Ticket.

In light of recent moves by Aer Lingus to encroach on EasyJet strongholds (BFS,LGW) does anyone think that Easyjet might be tempted to hit back at Dublin?

I know they never did in their battle with RYR when they flew to the Irish regionals, but they could fly to places like Vienna, Amsterdam, Barcelona to airports that Ryanair wouldnt touch.

MUFC_fan
23rd Mar 2009, 16:55
If U2 were to expand into DUB, even on EI routes only, FR would soon be on the same routes.

If they didn't, then U2 may be able to gain a customer base in DUB which could mean more expansion and more confidence against FR so I would think if U2 were to look at DUB, FR would be right behind them.

Now that the Dutch flying tax has been cut effective 1st July 2009, how does this affect the Easyjet operation at Amsterdam ?

Will there really be an extra million seats per year to/from Amsterdam ?
Are the high fees at Schiphol still a sticking point ?
Would Easyjet do anything at Maastricht, or have Ryanair claimed it as their own now ?

airhumberside
25th Mar 2009, 18:08
An article on the travel mole website has Easyjet's CEO quoted as welcoming the axing of the tax but then pointing out about AMS airport costs being the second most expensive in Europe. Only when airport costs decrease will Easyjet invest in the Netherlands again

They're on sale early! They usually go on sale around late May to mid June... at least that was the case last year. Not complaining though. It might make other carriers put there winter flights on sale early too. See who's offering the best bargain :ok:

Remember certain routes are not fully available ie) GVA-UK routes as some are GVA based.

MAN currently stands at daily on this route but will obviously be more.

Ringwayman
25th Mar 2009, 21:33
The weekend operations for MAN-GVA suggest that the 1st service from MAN will be operated by a MAN based unit (0730 on Sat and 0650 on Sun unless there are some very early depts from GVA!); aren't current ops done by STN/BRS based aircraft and the summer programme looks like a non-based unit flying the route.

Does anyone know what is happening with the EZY6035 BRS-MAD (10th APR) delayed until today as EZY9035? From what I can see from flight stats,

The flight was due to depart BRS at 1655 yesterday
but it shows that the flight was estamted at 2030 yesterday
the flight shows landed on time in MAD at 2005 .

there is no flight showing for today under EZY9035.

Never trust that Flight Tracker website its useless. The flight definitely did not operate.

EZY are advising passengers that their flight - new number 9035, will depart at 14:55 but as you have said nothing appears on the departures screen. They said it was because it was an additional flight but surely this should still show if it is to operate??

Can't help with Friday's outbound but EZY 9036 landed at BRS this evening and arrived on stand at 2003 hours (Bristol Airport apron website).

There is normally no Saturday service from/to Madrid and the Mon to Fri inbounds are EZY 6036 with the Sun inbound EZY 6034.

There is nothing on the BRS main website departure or arrival boards today re Madrid, although BBC Ceefax this evening showed EZY 9036 sched to arrive at 1910.

I notice the comment that Luton - Warsaw is not available next winter ... I thought EZY were pulling out of Warsaw in the not too distant future due to substantial increases in landing fees there?

I suspect that the Vienna service may have been axed as a result of the airline starting to fly there from Gatwick.

This was announced a little while ago and quite right about the Vienna service easy of course hoping that passengers pay that little bit more to fly out of Gatwick. On the credit side a number of routes out of Luton will have extra services including Madrid which should make up the shortfall. Good news for Wizzair though for the Warsaw route.
