Any word on how the AMS survey has been received?

I note from the HIAL site they had over 2000 completed, not quite sure if thats good or bad mind you . . . .

Are Flybe / Loganair happy with their progress now they have been in place for a while?

DB6 29th September 2008 16:01

The Loganair Dundee base becomes permanent from 26 Oct - you can draw your own conclusions :}.

First post on Prune so I must first say hello to all other members.
I am due to fly from Bhx to Dundee in the near future, so I am asking if anyone has any idea of how this route with logie is performing as I would hate to end up behind the wheel of a car both before attending a wedding and then aferwards. (would not be able to partake in the local waters) Any ideas anyone ?

tallaonehotel 29th September 2008 19:56

Logie are doin' just fine.
No major glitches over the first few months, all has gone well.
Just keep using the service Dundee:)

Davman 29th September 2008 20:20

Thanks for imfo. Will definitely fly up now. Cheers:):ok:

Flights are operating at under 50% load factor per the CAA stats, which I am sure would have improved in September (hopefully) and reliability has been fairly good.

I can only think of one cancellation since it started but there may have been one or two more.

Not sure if Friday am's flight got in with the fog.

CAA figures: -

August 1749 approx average 13 which is about 39% load factor
July 2145 average 15 or 45% load factor
June 2107 average 16 or 48% load factor

No idea of yield though.

I suspect that Loganair/flybe will be expecting this to improve.

Anyone have an idea of the break even figure on such a route?

Loganair are to drop the afternoon BHX flights on Mondays & Tuesdays as well as the Friday morning flights according to local paper, as of the 27th October.

On a more plus note for Dundee, heard a strange rumour that the Highlands and Islands are looking to extend the runway at Dundee.

Also, Loganair are establishing a base at Dundee ?

the_fish@blueyonder. 21st October 2008 17:13

Todays Telegraph are reporting that flights to "Northern Spain" or Mallorca could begin in 2010 with a "small Airbus Aircraft".

Also mentions that one of the airlines they were in talks with is "no longer with us"...was possibly XL*?

Link: Evening Telegraph: News

*I've got no source for this, I just can't think of any other carrier who's gone recently who would have thought about flying to Spain from Dundee.

Sounds to me more like LTE

Newdundeeflyer, Loganair Dundee crew base permanent as from last Sunday :ok:(there has been a cabin crew base since start of ops).

Nice to see Flybe announcing Dundee - Jersey to be launched from end of March for the summer season. :D

Just a single rotation on Saturdays, but its extremely encouraging that Dundee has landed another route. Edit: This is to take over the VLM charter that was previously operated via a local travel agent but only bookable as part of a package. The packages are still available apparently but it can obviously be booked as flight only now through Flybe.

More routes to be announced on Thursday, might be too much to hope to hope that there is a chance of further good news then though.

Also worth noting it will be with a Q400 rather than through Loganair with the S340.

Lot of Suckling/City Jet Dorniers sitting around hanger ? Problems for City Jet ?

At last time on passing, believe there were 4 and a further 1 from a now defunct City Star...................

Cityjet 328's for sale

It looks like 2 of them are up for sale Newdundeeflyer. Please see attached link.

Dornier 328 aircraft: 1996 Dornier 328 for sale on the Aircraft Exchange

This may have been previously reported on other threads i.e. Cityjet or Scot Airways?

DB6 4th May 2009 09:18

Nice to see the Flybe Q400 in on Saturday - if any of the crews read this drop me a PM. I operate the Saab 340 into Dundee and have some briefing info that might be of some use.
