Sooner London Airways bugg£r off the better.

Good to see Dundee had a ~20% inc in passengers for 2007.:ok:

Hopefully Flybe/Loganair can develop the route network from the airport.

Skipness One Echo 5th May 2008 20:40

Was wrong to paint the aircraft in full flybe colours, whatever your feelings on BA you don't have a leg to stand on legally here as it's needlessly provocative.
Richard I guess you want BA to dump the Aberdeen shuttle then?

One more time, BA can't make money outside London because Scotland prefers Ryanair and easyJet.......

tallaonehotel 6th May 2008 07:25

Skipness,

You must have a vested interest in BA by the sounds of things, and the arguements will trundle on.
The "BA don't make money excuse" on regional flying has had the ar*e ripped out of it.
We all know they didn't because they never invetsed in a decent product and let it be managed by a decent management team who knew the regions.
Not some useless piece of dead wood from Waterside or BA Regional ( Mr Evans and Co ).

In the grand scheme of things a couple of different paint jobs wouldn't have made a huge difference....shows BA's management are on the ball with important issues concerning them.

BA

Skipness: Frankly these days, yes - I do.

Anyone "in the know" ,or not even, able to divulge how the new routes are shaping up for tomorrow's launch? Loganair/flybe satisfied with sales etc?

If they sell as many tickets as they have taxi's advertised then they can't possibly fail.

MIKECR 21st May 2008 13:24

Any reason why the last 2 or 3 posts, mine included, were deleted??

Todays Dundee Evening Telegraph had a full page story about the launch of the new flights, apparantly the first Belfast flight was almost full.

http://www.eveningtelegraph.co.uk/ou...1393421t0.shtm

Not shown here, but there was also an article on the same page which hinted at future routes with flybe, although it didn't reveal any destinations, it did state that they were looking at offering more than just the two routes, but that any new starts would be UK domestic services.

When the Loganair Irish PSO route ends in July, extra capacity will become available.
:)

BaggageBob 7th June 2008 19:19

Can someone please inform me if there is an airport in Dundee - I am looking to fly to london in about a month.
Thankyou very much.

wishicouldland 7th June 2008 20:47

BaggageBob,

As you have been posting in this forum for 2 years and on this thread since Jan 2006 I would have thought that you would have realised there was an airport in Dundee, especially as you appear to have knowledge of Birmingham!

On a slightly different note, the P&J quotes the Chief Exec of HIAL whilst unveiling a plaque in memory of Willie logan at Dundee mentioning that it coincides with Loganairs launch of routes from Dundee to Birmingham, Belfast, Bradford & Manchester. Had heard about the first 2 but the last 2 are news indeed. Anyone confirm or deny? Would be good routes for Yogi I should think.

BaggageBob 7th June 2008 21:02

But its sooo quiet at Dundee at the moment I thought it was shut !

But then when I went back home it was also very quiet !!!!!!!!!!!

Cloud1 7th June 2008 21:02

What a question :D

goldeneye 7th June 2008 21:13

Does anyone know why there is a Citystar Do328 parked up near the hanger at dundee. Its has a german reg now, is it bound for Scotairways or just being stored.

Dundee was pretty busy on Thursday afternoon when i was there for a look with the Cityjet/Air France/Scotairways flight to London, the Flybe/Loganair ready for Birmingham. Two Scotairways Do328's at the hanger and the Citystar.

wishicouldland 7th June 2008 21:57

The Citystar 328 has been parked up in ABZ for ages and the reg was changed last week. The D-CIRQ suggests cirrus Airlines in Germany who have been buying up all the available 328s for their feeder contract for Lufthansa and all their regs have CIR something. Best guess is that it is finally bound for Germany after some maintenance at Dundee and no doubt for a paint shop along the way...

Yep Dundee is becoming more and more interesting by the week.

Richard Taylor 8th June 2008 07:49

Yes, the ex-City Star 328 is bound for Cirrus. Some engineering work at Dundee first.

Is Dundee that wee strip I can see from the choo choo train when heading for Glasgow? :E

(Joking of course! :O)

Newdundeeflyer 23rd July 2008 10:38

Amsterdam

Speaking to airport staff this morning, very strong rumours of an amsterdam route starting up ?

rossstrachan 23rd July 2008 11:44

This would be very nice and I'm sure that it would be used by quite a lot of people if the prices were fairly low. Do you have any idea which airline it might be?
