SEN is four flights a week. Presumably reduced based on the money (or lack of) they took off people last time.

Due to lack of ATC staff I think - the airport is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to allow the controllers to take a break.

Because theyre SO busy?
Because theyve not hired/trained enough ATC staff?

Buster the Bear 8th Apr 2019 21:32

I doubt if many British ATC units are working with full staffing, there is a skills shortage globally.

Loganair flights for the W19/20 schedule are available to book. Based on the schedule loaded they are planning to BHD, DUB and SEN 4 x Weekly. Flights will operate on a Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday

Further changes are likely between now and the end of October

Anyone know if it’s all systems go for the start of passenger operations?
hopefully all staff in place now?

They'll need to change the roadsigns on the A689 - the airport signs send you to the 'old' terminal, and the roundabout near the 'new' terminal is just signed to the distribution centre.

But.....is the airport and ATC fully licensed now so commercial ops can start?

SWBKCB 22nd May 2019 15:18

Surely you're not suggesting that Stobart would allow flights to be sold and indulge in extensive publicity without having the appropriate staffing and licencing approvals in place?

Oh, wait....

highwideandugly 22nd May 2019 17:45

Many a true word spoken in jest...... passenger figures will of course tell us all we need to know?

VickersVicount 22nd May 2019 18:20

... who said it was EDI management that were whingers? Give the CAX guys a chance before dismissing

Yes. Too much negativity every time someone starts something new.

SWBKCB 23rd May 2019 09:53

Unfortunately, the negativity in the case of Stobart at CAX is based on the facts of their previous failure to deliver, shoddy treatment of resident operators, etc which has got rid of a lot of the goodwill that was around.

Loganair's New Routes

If the Loganair website is correct, NYXAIR an Estonian airline (total fleet 3 elderly Saabs , one A, one B, and a freighter) will be helping out with this start up service.

Nyxair

ES-NSC (the passenger 340B) flew into Glasgow 4 days ago and has been operating for Loganair every day since then

Just curious, but which part of the website - do they show as the operator when you make a booking?

Flights operated by Myxair when you select any flight from CAX

Nigh on 30 year old aircraft, not even Loganair - thats really pushing the boat out for Start Ups.
Shows no confidence IMO.
Can you imagine the field day the Press will have, turning up to report and photograph this new dawn for CAX only to find a 30 year old 'Renter' on the tarmac

SWBKCB 9th Jun 2019 08:36

It's of the same vintage as Loganair's own a/c. Local press tend not to bite the hand that feeds - if anybody does raise it, Stobart will just point to the money they have spent and how they are being prudent, might oaks from tiny acorns etc. Using a stand alone, leased in unit makes sense of the slighty odd schedule of the latest incarnation of the CAX flights.

Alteagod 9th Jun 2019 11:02

Agree schedule is very odd but better than no schedule at all I suppose

When you go to choose the type of fare you want it's displayed as info at the top of the page
