17 based would be +5 on S17 which was 12 based.

Navpi 17th Jan 2018 15:29

Re EZY it's still a lot more than we have at STN!

Did anybody take up the BHX SLOTS ex Monarch.

I would have thought it was an even better opportunity than Manchester?

chinapattern 17th Jan 2018 15:32

Air Baltic and Croatian have handed their slots back.

MANFOD 17th Jan 2018 15:32

Easyjet:
I believe it was suggested on here and on another forum that the original slot requests requiring 20 based a/c included some duplications between T1 and T2 and that the maximum additional based a/c was more likely to be 5 or 6. Personally, if we end up with 4 more, I shall be delighted.

A mischievous question I suspect.

Pegasus 4 weekly to SAW is still live, so, with TK increasing some flights to an A330 and 4 weekly PGS to SAW means Istanbul is pretty much back to what it was when TK ran 3 daily.

Dobbo_Dobbo 17th Jan 2018 15:36

For context the individual behind the account "BHX5DME" posts as "IanF" on another forum.

As the name implies he is a BHX fanboy who seeks to wind up MAN posters whenever he can. His post above is the latest iteration of his activities.

Easyjet 20 based did indeed come with the caveat that it was unlikely all 20 based slots would be used.

In terms of the terminal split, it was always in Chroma that the extra aircraft had been allocated T2 while the original 12 were in T1. I believe work is being done to keep the full operation in T1 with some Jet2 split ops and dynamic scheduling.

The Flying Cokeman 17th Jan 2018 18:54

In the meantime us actually working for EZY have no idea. There is an announcement next week I believe, involving a NEO in MAN taking part in the media event. After that the NEO is going to stay for a while doing the daily TFS.

I'm sure I read a rumour in here a while back about a possible Indian route, did I just imagine that? Any rumours of this?

rkenyon 17th Jan 2018 21:36

There have been rumours for years... Nothing ever materialises :)

Dobbo_Dobbo 17th Jan 2018 21:44

Crazy Voyager

As I understand it, Spicejet applied for slots for a daily B77W DEL-MAN-DEL.

T2 was alllocated, but as Spicejet have no B77W in their fleet, it felt like a kind shot and I think the slots have been handed back.

Yes there had been slots held for S18 but they have been handed back. Maybe another year........

Crazy Voyager 18th Jan 2018 09:50

That sounds familiar, thanks!

LAX_LHR 18th Jan 2018 09:56

The chances of spicejet receiving and inducting a B77W into the fleet for this summer was always slim anyway

Do we know what routes the extra 5 aircraft will be doing?

It will be interesting if any of their potential competition for an India-MAN route (Air India, Scoot, Jet, Vistara) may get a "prod" from this.

LAX_LHR 18th Jan 2018 11:18

In terms of the extra Easyjet routes, the Nice route is still showing in Chroma.

It has been covered, but An educated guess of the other routes:

Faro and Barcelona. Perhaps 2 of the biggest outstations not yet served from MAN.

Ibiza and Mahon. The latter appears to be dropped ex-LPL and there is a real lack of scheduled flights to MAH from the North West.

Possibles: Rome FCO/Paris ORY/Asturias OVD/Almeria LEI/Izmir ADB/Hurgarda HRG and Lanzarote ACE.

Wish list: Belgrade, Zagreb and Santander.

Extra frequencies:

Gibraltar, Tel Aviv, Palma, Malaga, Alicante, Dalaman and Munich

Like I say, all above barring Nice are pure guesses by me.

bayer328 18th Jan 2018 12:00

Personally I would like Zurich, to return.

Dobbo_Dobbo 18th Jan 2018 12:30

Don't Swiss fly there twice a day?

LAX_LHR 18th Jan 2018 13:09

Swiss do fly but Easyjet also offered the route for a short time ex-MAN IIRC
