Shame for MME but you could tell that they were slowly pulling out. Though there loss is GLA, EDI & ABZ's gain though ABZ has lost BCN.

Think there will be many changes to the canadian programme maybe bring back the 3 763's?

Heard a rumor jet2 might be selling there chinese 752's think GSM would be interested in any?

Pontious 15th Aug 2008 14:20

I doubt it,4567. Those aircraft aren't 180 mins ETOPS because they have the small battery packs.
:ok:

airhumberside 15th Aug 2008 16:39

Looks like EDI-Pula has also been axed for next summer

4567 17th Aug 2008 18:40

Think GSM will ever return to England when it comes to Europe?

DIRECTTANGODELTA 17th Aug 2008 20:13

Are there any GSM staff on these boards? I would like to know if MME has definately been pulled for 2009. Looking at their schedules they are only flying from GLA,EDI,ABZ and BEL so are they generally contracting? This certainly wont occupy the current fleet even with the 733s gone. Does anyone have a contact e-mail address for GSM?

scotsunflyer 18th Aug 2008 10:49

What is on sale at the momentm will use all 4 B73H, 1 B738, 2 B73W and 1 B763. This leaves the B752 and the 2 B763 for other the Canadian flights

4567 19th Aug 2008 14:57

Seen this local north east engand paper reporting that Flyglobespan are considering a move from MME to NCL anyone know anything?

Airline could quit Tees Valley for Newcastle - JournalLive

markbarbera 20th Aug 2008 13:13

flyglobespan is denying the rumours of a Durham Tees Valley pullout, according to their press release quoted in this news article:

Budget airline denies it is quitting Tees Valley airport (From The Northern Echo)

4567 20th Aug 2008 15:16

Hard to tell from what Globespan have been saying if they are planning to return to MME or are just waiting longer to say there leaving. Its becuase they have mostly all there routes from EDI,GLA & ABZ on sale but none for MME thats bringing out all this suspicion.

Is there spare a/c for flights out of MME?

luvly jubbly 20th Aug 2008 15:23

Not at the moment. But what if...... the leasing company offer the -300s back to us so cheap that we can't resist????? Then we might see tix being sold after the planes are supposed to go back in Jan!

4567 22nd Aug 2008 14:55

Looks as if Jet2 are taking a leaf out of Globespans book. On thee route map is showing a new route from Leeds to Dunbrovnik bookable on there website no announcements yet.

When you think GSM will make there decision about MME? Theres so much talk on the MME forum you don't know what to think.

pinkpyjama 22nd Aug 2008 16:15

Your guess is as good as any's. Think problem is actually with whether there is an aircraft for them from next Jan. The 733's go then you see! Some think they know but don't want to tell staff for fear of mass exodus. Others think they simply do not know final answer yet. I fear it's the former but would be delighted in being proved wrong. Would be a shame as it has a peach of a workforce at MME. Great attitudes and lets be honest, the planes are hardly empty. There's a good little customer base as long as you stick to bucket and spade brigade. Without a Jet though you don't get very far do you :ugh:

Whats happened to the SFB flight? never good when it says See Agent on the departures board.
Don't even think its left GLA yet!

luvly jubbly 23rd Aug 2008 21:45

Still running reactionary delays from that rather large tropical storm of the past few days....

Glad I wasn't around SFB for that one!

DIRECTTANGODELTA 24th Aug 2008 17:13

G-OTDA strikes again, departed MME at 1630 and developed an undercarraige problem after 30 mins? It returned but during the descent was sent to Glasgow where it landed at 1800pm.

It is a total dog:\:\:\

Little Blue 24th Aug 2008 17:14

We (bmi) had the contract a few years back. Crew loved it.
Acension and then onto Port Stanley,,they had a ball.
Hope GSM are up to it?

UFGBOY 24th Aug 2008 22:24

4567 25th Aug 2008 16:01

Were the passengers from MME last night switched straight away to another a/c in GLA or made to wait?
