And most importantly why have TUi said they want the airport to stay open?

Typical mindless TimmyW drivel. If they’ve officially told the airport they’re leaving in October why are they still selling holidays from Doncaster for next year?

TUI can only gain by keeping DSA-centric holidays on sale. If DSA is magically saved, then TUI get the revenue. If DSA closes, then TUI email all pax offering a choice between refund, EMA or MAN - most pax will choose to switch airport instead of losing a holiday, so again TUI get to keep the sales revenue.
One should not infer anything about DSA's future from TUI and Wizz continuing to sell DSA centric flights and holidays
Twitter Lol! No answer from you about TUi stating they want the airport to remain open.
Check Facebook, plenty of people saying how they just booked 2023 holidays from Doncaster. Holidays like these. Also plentiful people specifically commenting on you. I

Where’s the statutory 90 day consultation for staff then? Because if they’re not operating past October they’ve got staff to tell, and third party suppliers, who in turn would possibly have to do the same thing.
Booked your flight yet, you know because you want to fly out of Doncaster?
Of course someone with a bit of initiative would book a trial or experience flight with one of the flying clubs, put a bit of money into the local economy, and airport companies. You could get a pilots eye view of the airport see everything, instead of sitting in a TUi jet just because you want to have a flight out of the airport?
Ah bless! You ok hun?
You've not mentioned for a while all those imaginary friends you know at the airport, those that work for Peel, Swissport, or your mate at Doncaster Free Press….
Still there seems to be a bit of support from people both those saying on Facebook and Twitter they’re booking Doncaster departure holidays and here where people can sign their support. Anyone feel free to add their signature as there’s only 102,000 at the moment. I’m sure Timmy’s is on there seeing as he’s told us on here in the past he actually supports the airport.

Alot of "shooting the messenger" evident on this thread. Frustration at the turn of events is entirely understandable, but the reality is that those who posted gloomy news have been proven correct to date. No point calling them names.

Lol! You clearly have very little idea about the industry. So you think the airline considers it a viable use of their staffs time to rebook potentially thousand’s of holidays offering different dates or refunds if they know they’re not operating them?

Also what 90 days? Wizz crew learnt it from the news that their base is closing with a week's notice.
WZZUK did close their base with a week or so notice. From my basic redundancy knowledge, as they ‘offered’ redeployment and transfers to other bases they don’t need 45/90 day notice as they were offering alternative identical positions within the company.

So if Wizz can do it then surely anyone else can?
As will TUI and all the affected handlers/providers. Or continue paying them for a few months until the airport closes anyway. None of these things prove that TUI won't go.
Errr, so just so we understand your business acumen, please provide the business case for doing so.
In exactly the same way they also don’t prove that TUi are starting a service to the moon. However whilst TUi haven’t yet announced any flights to the moon, they have clearly stated they want the airport to remain open. I imagine they’re quite pleased with the initial healthy DSA summer 2023 booking figures too, don’t you?
In other important news, Walt, who was so unceremonially escorted off the premises last week, according to one idiot, has obviously forgotten and turned up to work today. Top man that he is, he’s sending out emails on future DSA cargo flights.
I suspect haylo knew that anyway

but it’s worth mentioning, if only to emphasise just how much uninformed and inaccurate garbage is posted on here by idiots.

Peel Holdings.
The last 20/21 accounts by Peel.
Energy is going to be something they concentrate on. Anyone know if there is a shale gas deposit in the DSA area? I think Barton has one.
Next accounts due in October.

Does anyone know roughly how many people are employed by TUI and Wizz at Doncaster airport, excluding pilots ? Directly employed.. not people working for 3rd parties like handling agents. And no, I don't include people working in TUI shops in town centres in the local area
I'm guessing that the number of Wizz employees is (or will be) very small after WizzUK closed their base. I'm assuming TUI pilots told to move to EMA or MAN probably would do so, but others on lower salaries would be more reluctant
