Seville has not been served from EMA for a number of years. Valencia has always been a summer seasonal route so will have to see if it still returns for Summer 24

Has Eastern combined Humberside and EMA departures to NQY?

I think the Eastern goes HUM-NQY-EMA-NQY-HUM, and it’s a J41, but I could be wrong. Full credit to Eastern for doing Newquay and Paris from EMA. I wish they would pull a couple of Jetstreams out of storage and do EMA to EDI, GLA and BRU.

How they are making money operating a J41 on what is essentially a leisure route I can't imagine. Are they selling HUY-EMA-HUY as well as the NQY sectors?

Can't disagree regarding your wish for EDI. GLA and BRU routes, but EMA would need a more reliable operator than Eastern. Loganair would be good, but probably not realistic at the moment.

I don’t think Eastern are selling EMA-HUY. Just NQY. They own the J41 and I guess they are going to use an aircraft that reflects pax numbers. Interestingly their Emb 170/190 fleet is growing, but I suspect this is for corporate charters, which seems quite lucrative.

The initial plan for EMA-NQY was to utilise the ATR over a much longer season. That was far too ambitious in every respect. A Friday, Sunday and Monday service in high season, June-September would probably have been more realistic, though given the abysmal weather this year even that might have struggled.

Interesting to see if EMA-NQY returns for S24.

I think Eastern will run NQY until at least September. Beyond that, is anyone’s guess. EMA desperately needs an operator to pick up AMS, BRU, EDI and Glasgow, but priority seems DHL and Ryanair. It would be great if Eastern could run an ATR72 or EMB170 from GLA or EDI to EMA and onto AMS and back.

NWLDC have granted approval for a small terminal extension to the front elevation of the central security search area to permit enough space for the installation of new baggage scanning machines.

It looks brutal but it is only for a very brief period.

Ryanair across the board have extended quite a few flights to 6th November, I assume to cover half-term etc so the cuts start from the 7th but only last until 16th December and even earlier on some routes.

The base has only 4 operational aircraft Friday to Monday and between two and three the other days. in respect of Tuesday during that reduced period, I only have 4 flights listed, three of which are on based aircraft and Dublin is on a Dublin based aircraft.

Alicante operates on 5 days but 6 flights down from 8 I think but it is back to 8 from just before Christmas, Malaga is down to 3 from 5, Arrecife 4 from 5, Faro is just once a week down from 2, Krakow & Wroclaw are 2 from 3.

What I am not so sure is what the original schedule was like, if of course it was different. From the original release BHX lost of around 11 frequencies give or take a few but it was mainly bringing the Irish frequencies back into real world

What’s the situation at EMA right now?

LS606 from TFS diverted to BHX and is current making what appears to be a second attempt to approach EMA

FR538 from DUB appears to be diverting to MAN

FR3153 from TFS divert to and is current on the ground at BHX
