TUI Summer 2026
Some slight changes for Summer 2026:
PMI increases from 4 to 5x weekly with new Thursday flight added. This replaces the Thursday LPA rotatation which now appears to be only 1x weekly on a Monday.
NBE Monday flights change to a Tuesday evening.
DLM Tuesday evening flight changes to Monday afternoon. The Freebird on a Sunday is now dropped for S26.
CFU on a Monday changes from afternoon to a morning flight.
Still 2x based aircraft in total. Canaries and Turkey are continuing to see reductions from TUI flying with much of the Turkish traffic now sold on SunExpress and Canaries being a strong market using Ryanair sales.

Does get confusing with Turkish market, A-jet, Pegasus, SunExpress and the occasional Turkish mainline.
I thought Stansted gain in SunExpress last year was more to do with no slot availability at Luton, obviously that dymanic has now changed.

Doing what jet2 do well. Looking after their customers so that everyone gets their holiday, even if they are 4 hours late.
Yes, I know they do a lot of package hols.
Not sure if this IT Fail is an extraordinary circumstance for dodging compensation though.

It's not so much that Ryanair doesn't care, they just have different priorities. If they delayed everything with the sheer size of the operation they have, not just at STN but all the away based aircraft that fly into STN from the outstations during the first wave, it would have a catastrophic impact across the entire network. You'd have crew eventually going out of hours all over the place towards the end of the day, meaning those evening flights would have to be cancelled anyway to avoid aircraft and crew being displaced for the next day's operation. That would impact far more customers than the unfortunate ones that missed flights at STN. Add to that, if Ryanair are having to cancel evening flights (or indeed into the next day) due to aircraft and crew shortages as a result of accumulated delay, suddenly that becomes much more of a direct airline issue as far as compensation goes. Fundamentally the decisions the airlines make in these situations is down to EU261 payouts. For as long as the regulation doesn't change, the behaviour of airlines in these scenarios won't either.
As for Jet2, yes they have a package holiday business to supply which plays a large part, but additionally the other 12 UK bases to all intents and purposes are unaffected. Plus, given the 15 or so aircraft they had due out of STN that morning were all based aircraft due back at STN later that day, it doesn't have nearly the same widespread, knock-on impact across the network from purely an operational aspect.

Noticed some areas in the terminal that have been sectioned/blocked off by large billboards. Sounds as though work on the extension/TP has started
does anyone know what works are currently being done and what is lined up going forwards? The STN TP press release did also mention that sat 2 finally looks set for a long overdue upgrade, will be interesting to see what MAG has planned re. Gate room reconfigurations

The Domestic Arrivals area has already moved and this makes way for an extension of the security area into the current orientation zone where the main WDF entrance is, which is already hoarded off.
Satellite reconfiguration with pre-boarding areas, including SAT 2, will be happening, but I'm not sure what the construction/phasing of that is currently.
Not really part of STN-TP as such, but the old Wetherspoons bar in SAT 2 by Gates 37/38 has been gutted out and is now just general dwell space with new flooring. Maybe that gives a possible impression of what SAT 2 may aesthetically look like more widely.
