On another subject, shame CWL can’t get some of these Turkish seasonal airlines in. BRS has got SunExpress & Corendon and look like Southwind Airlines also for S24.

Also does anyone know if the Eastern/Air France ORY flight continues for the winter season ?
Not bookable and same for EMA - Orly

Can anyone throw any light on the figures returned for May?

Cardiff 530 pax and EMA 763 - are these correct and I know they can get updated.

The punctuality stats show 57 rotations for May and that averages to 9.4 pax per flight and probably answers your winter question assuming the figure 530 is correct. EMA is not much better at 13 per flight and I couldn't even find Southampton Orly yet it did operate but they are provisional figures so I suppose will appear over the next few weeks.

Don’t believe SOU has fared much better and seems like single digit numbers on most flights. Not promising if no winter schedule has yet been released with 3 months to go!

Just another triumph from Eastern. No advertising, high fares and suggested poor reliability. Give them 6 months and they'll be off to some other random new route.
The potential is there. May 2018 - 6835 passengers and May 2019 6957 passengers. That's on average 112 passengers per flight on a daily flight.

Did I read somewhere these are just Air France slot sitters as they and their partner airlines didn't have the aircraft or crew to use them this summer?

Vueling was the last operator on the Paris route…that was to CDG.

In May 2019 it was Flybe on the EMB-170 to CDG, so if the 112 is corrrect that covers inbound and outbound, not per flight.

The SOU figures are extremely poor, but given that the timings were poor, punctuality even poorer and advertisng zero, what can you expect?

The CAA stats show 6957 passengers, so 224 a day, 112 per flight on average.
Was CDG double daily on some days back in 2019?

Edit: It was 11x weekly. Unsure on which days though.

I thought CWL was a E195 base for Flybe? If so then 112 is possible although very high! 95% loads across the board of that really was the case.

At last it appears the Eastern CWL-ORY flights are now also bookable through Air France direct, not tried for a few weeks but last time I did a search with AF to ORY it suggested CWL-AMS-NCE-ORY !!!!

For now at least it gives the Eastern flight an opportunity plus it also has an AF flight number according to the ORY arrivals/departures board which can only be a positive thing really to make the travelling public aware of this route as the marketing has been pretty naff really.

It makes sense for there to be an AF flight number as they are just baby-sitting ORY slots for AF for now. I doubt AF care much one way or the other as long as the slots are utilised to avoid them going back into the pool (in theory at least, COHOR are a law unto themselves!)

What dates? I can't find them on the AF website. Looking in August and November, like you I got offered CWL-AMS-NCE-ORY

Looks like Loganair is upgrading the EDI-CWL-EDI route from the EM4 to AT7 for next year (according to the seating plan).

Would be great to see this go double daily during the working week and even GLA being reintroduced too.

But for now a larger aircraft is better than nothing and most probably due to the phasing out of the EM4 aircraft too.

Anybody heard anything more on this?

I'm not sure Loganair are phasing them out anytime soon, especially as they announced a project in collaboration with the Met Office to measure weather data, which will see all their Embraer 145’s equipped with atmospheric water vapour sensors.

Must just be an aircraft upgrade then for CWL from the EM4 to the AT7
