As you say this is Luton, who knows.

On a different subject I see Sun Express have added a direct Izmir flight on a Friday night ( same as last year ) and have both Avion Express and Tailwind operating some of the Antalya flights in May onwards.
Considering we thought they had moved over to STN it’s not a bad schedule.

I'm sure was due to lack of slot availability, the move to STN, but obviously not. Don't TUI buy alot of seats on the flights? TUI certainly do on EZY flights.
With a shortage of their own planes, it is a good way to keep capacity of holidays on offer from Luton.

Gets even worse at a newish clean slate designed airport in West Midlands -51 pax left after RYR flight departed without them.

Bet they will have no joy getting refunds!

Luton has been ahead of the game updating security scanners/procedures so things should be even better soon it the local
Once the new Mezzanine opens, it should release some seating downstairs.

Free seating or order a meal seating? I think the jury is still out on that one but I suspect both floors are linked to the restaurant.

It's free seating. As luck would have it I took this picture just this morning. The Hawker Bar has expanded with some extra seating, but mainly free seats under the mezzanine.

Set to open next year, the restaurant will feature a mezzanine floor overlooking the LLA departure lounge and will accommodate up to 500 diners.
Must be a typo. I can’t see how 500 dinners would fit into the available space but it must be still viewed as an improvement for the lounge.

Frank & Benny's was 107 diners, this will be 2 floors plus the mezzanine area extra so a big upgrade on facilities on offer.

Looking south from my back garden here in Baker Street Luton I took two photos at 09:02 hours what looked like contrails never seen before. Did any of you see them? I mention this because several days later the it was reported that many folk in the U.K that included the Welsh the Scottish and many in England. reported the similar scenes. It occurred to me you guys being experienced in how to research historical flights and their routes could lead to such scenes.

I believe FR24 has a replay feature, may help?

Interesting Titan 320 still in use by Wizzair UK. Are engine issues cutting that deep into shedules?

Yes I saw them as well, at least 9 separate contrails which didn't seem to have dispersed as they would normally have done. I can only speculate the high altitude winds must have been exceptionally light that day.

Tel Aviv

Easyjet announced a suspension of all TLV flights for 6 months whereas Wizzair restarted theirs today after a 3 day pause.

Were the contrails associated with Elon Musk's Starlink system? Just a guess.

Looks like the Wizz Air UK based fleet will increase to 12 aircraft by peak summer. Seems a brave move considering the aircraft issues they have currently, but with Ryanair also having increased from 6 to 7 based this summer, does this mean EasyJet have cut 2 based aircraft, or is this new capacity?

This morning W9 has x11 departures and W4 x13 so peak summer does look to be correct. I think W4 have been x15 arrivals before.
I think it was worked out the increase in based RYR has been done with a loss of away based aircraft. I suspect similar for Wizzair. There is a Titan 320 currently Luton based working for W9, and today a SkyUp 738 & x2 Avion 320 working for W4. No doubt all paid for by GTX.
It should be noted, RYR got only 69% of requested S24 slots so clearly they want more. The demand is there in their eyes, not just being a spoiler against Easy & Wizzair.
The airport has x3 more stands available than it did last summer, making this possible.
As far as I know, the EZY based fleet numbers remain the same.

Champions League at Wembley is a whole different logistic nightmare. With the game at 8pm the crush point at the Airport will be around midnight. No doubt the Summer slot ban for June 1st/2nd will be waved away. Wait and see if any UK teams make it, Arsenal fans obviously not an issue, Man City will use the train.
Oh dear, no English teams left in Champions League. French, two German and a Spanish team. All eyes on 30th April - book your slots early for May 31st/June 1st.
I'll take a wild guess, Spanish to LTN, Germans to STN !

Easyjet reporting they will deploy aircraft which would have done TLV, to Malaga & Majorca. I was hoping more capacity to a similar distance route like Turkey but I suppose they go where the money is.

Easyjet have increased flights to Turkey.

Dalaman was 5 weekly last year, already up to 6 weekly and will be daily by September.

Antalya was 2 weekly last year, now up to 5 weekly. Most of the new flights look like ex Tel Aviv, with the three new flights all being around the 7am slot.

Not sure on exact flights to Bodrum last year but I don’t remember having 6 a week.

Sunexpress - have kept all 7 slots. However 6 to Antalya & only 1 to Izmir.

I think all those increases were already in the plan. Can't see them wasting 11 hours so extra standard bucket & spade routes with Holidays arm makes business sense at short notice.
