Hopefully FR’s outbound times will be kinder than Wizz’s 3am arrival.

Interesting conversation with some Wizzair crew who happened to be at same airport I was at, they delayed and we all in coffee shop and knew some mutual friends.
They Katowice based and senior guy said Wizzair opened up base in Krakow because Ryanair requesting slots and planned to base 8 aircraft at Katowice.

Seems like Wizz Air are keen to continue growing its operation at London Gatwick, and want to buy up Thomas Cook slots!
Financial Times - Virgin and Wizz Air eye Thomas Cook’s Gatwick daily slots
Thomas Cook had around 8-10 aircraft based at Gatwick, if Wizz were keen to buy enough slots, they could possibly open a second London base, and expand their UK registered airline further.
They currently have eleven UK registered aircraft based at Luton, but as the airport reaches its 18 million passengers per annum cap, they will need to grow operations from other London airports, if they want to expand further.

Let the Wizz v Ryanair (Buzz) battle properly commence!
So Ryanair are closing their Budapest base down from the the 1st December, and then the airline will immediately re-open the base with its newly created "Buzz" airline, which is a fully owned subsidiary of Ryanair.
All routes Ryanair currently flies witj Budapest based aircraft will now be operated by Buzz.
Reading the below news article, it seems Ryanair has a higher cost base than Wizzair, but by operating a new airline based in Hungary they can lower these costs to match/best Wizzair.
Hope this doesn't mean crew and staff will be forced to accept lower pay and poorer working conditions?!

Air Astana are to replace a 757 between London and Astana / Nur-Sultan in Kazakhstan with an A321. I wonder what Wizz plans to do with their A321XLRs currently on order once they are delivered...
